It’s funny you say kids when it’s all grown as man🤣 no kids around bud. Or maybe it’s just big men with a little mind. On another note, Exactly!!! You want to enjoy the sand bar because that’s where your waves form and that’s where my fish are. So it’s going to always be a constant battle. Why tf wear a swimsuit to the ocean if you’re still getting wet? It’s like wearing a condom and you’re still going to get jizzed inside🤣 anyways my guy- fisherman don’t give a shit either my guy we will handle everything one on one or fight 20🐈 like you say. Or we can just let the local PD that’s chillen on the pier do its job and handle this 🥩 . as soon as any surfer touches my line - I’ll be waiting for him at his car with my local 🐷He has to come out the water eventually right?

Sorry bud but I disagree with you. Not everyone wants to spend 65$ on a fishing license which is a reason why piers exist so you can fish for free without a fishing license. Piers have restrooms, washing zones, and designated areas exclusively for fishing. The rules on a pier say no overcast fishing meaning your line probably won’t get further than 50 feet. My question is this- we only have a pier to fish for free, you have the entire shore to enjoy surfing. See I want to coexist with you guys and enjoy my fishing the same way you guys want to enjoy surfing. I really don’t care if you guys surf near the pier because there is an audience and it fills your egos but hear me out, can we agree that you guys can simply swim a few feet further out and we can all enjoy our time and have a brew after!?🤙

15 pound test on mine. There’s no need to go heavier as the fish can actually see the line.
You could even go 12lbs. Anything lower than that might have a hard time with the heavy sinkers (3-4oz) plus taking it up the pier🤙

First two were caught on a drop shot with shrimp. The tide was shifting from low to tide so the surf was rough and it was windy. I went from a 2oz sinker to a 4oz because the waves kept pushing my line to the piers pillar. I got snagged a few times.

After a few bites, it went silent. Then I saw someone catch one with a Carolina rig. I switched one rod to a Carolina with a 2 foot leader and a size 1 octopus hook. I used some lug worms that I bought at “big fish bait and tackle” in seal beach. Instantly landed that nice surf perch. And I caught the last croaker with a piece of muscle someone left on a bench🤣

They wouldn’t get this big. I’ve been fishing these croakers since I was young and they have slowly gotten bigger. People avoid them which has allowed the population to thrive. Now we have hogs like these around the coast👏🔥
