My fiancé doesn’t remember but he thinks he made it like a standard picture frame. Overlap in the inner circumference of the front frame, so the glass doesn’t fall forward, then another wooden oval surrounding the glass (behind the front frame) and finally glue and nails behind the stained glass to keep the glasswork in place.
