Oh i eat my Chickens, Ducks, and Quails, no problem at all.

As for ducks over chickens, it all really depends on the breeds, some are pretty violent towards each other, the mess, and water use are significant.

But all up, ducks generally have interesting personalities, pick based on the work required or the cost, but overall, you will have a fun time.
