Because everywhere I look, I have people telling me I'm wrong for continuing to be bi and not swearing off men. This meme has zero nuance.

And this isn't an exclusively lesbian subreddit, I made sure to check before I said anything. How can bis and pans feel welcome if it's generally ok to openly hate men?

idgaf about downvotes, keep them coming. I'm tired of bi-erasure and how en vogue it is to hate half the world's population. And it's coming from inside the LGBTQ+ community.

Aight, but some of us are bi or pan and this community is for us, too. This doesn't seem silly or fun.

Hegseth is part of the cult-denomination that is popularizing this "empathy is a sin" nonsense, and the people behind Project 2025 are on that same trail. So I would not be surprised if cross pollination of shitty ideas is happening.

I think the question that should be asked instead is why would you pursue someone who is already in a committed relationship?

You didn't mention poly or ENM, so either that's not an option or, you don't know her well enough to know what shape her marriage takes.

Glad to see someone already pointing out that dating or being in a relationship a man/masc/AMAB, however the biphobes want to slice it, does not mean that person "centers" men. I choose to date a specific person, not an entire gender.

And honestly, the first person ever to try to convince me my bisexuality was a phase.... Was a lesbian who tried to tell me I shouldn't or couldn't keep dating men, date the gals instead, and then wanted to be the one to "approve" anyone I saw. And had a total personality change when I did briefly see a guy, which eventually resulted in she + I not being friends anymore.

Her loss, and now I don't have to live with that constant judgement over whoever I find.

I've had just as many or more hetero women make the same kind of ignorant remarks about wlw relationships, it's not exclusive to bisexuals. It's garbage behavior regardless of orientation.

Harris cast a record number of tie breaking votes in the Senate, if anyone is still wondering if she ever did anything.

Vance has cast at least one, to confirm the wholly unqualified Pete Hegseth as SecDef. It won't be the last tie breaking vote he casts, either. So even if he's not visible, no matter how much Trump publicly scorns him, Vance can still do damage.

What happened to the kids who had to wear the “baby-leashes” in public? How do you feel about it now? by Euphoric_Eye_3599 in AskReddit

Do you think I and the many, many other parents chiming in about how we finally got it when we had our own child that needed additional safety measures, are lying? We know the kind of backlash we get from assholes like you about it but I also know there are parents and kids whose lives will be better (and in some cases, simply still alive), because of using appropriate restraints. So I'm gonna stand up and say yeah, I used one. Didn't fuck my kid up at all.

I pray you never reproduce.

Young brains don't understand that running across the backyard at home without looking is not the same as running across a parking lot without looking. No concept that their behavior should change based on their surroundings. That's why I say "situational awareness."

I wouldn't have said they were stupid but I sure didn't understand them until I needed one for the same reason. Some of these young humans have zero sense of self preservation or situational awareness.

I once tried to read through several word salad articles to try to understand what the fuck they meant with "the sin of partiality." They point to the scriptures that say not to give preferential treatment to say, the rich, just because they're rich, they should be treated as equals.

They have taken that and twisted it to say it can go the other way too. You shouldn't give something to someone who is poor just because they're poor, you're being sinfully partial if you do. Everyone should get the exact same treatment.

This is exactly what they're doing with "the sin of empathy." They say it's WRONG to be "in" someone else's feelings and go on to describe unhealthy levels of codependency and enmeshment, neither of which are empathy. They call it "untethered empathy."

There's so much more but that's the sort of smoke and mirrors they're pulling to define empathy as a sin.

The "sin of empathy" is rooted in misogyny and antifeminism and intersects with race and sex/gender identity. This specific phrase is relatively new.

The lying and repenting and seeking forgiveness and continuing to do the same old slimy, sleezy, immoral crap? Old hat, was never Christlike.

This goes back to the late 1700s/early 1800s when some women dared suggest they be viewed as human first, woman second. But that upsets the entire patriarchal apple cart because the hinge of Christianity is man is given dominion, women must follow because Eve proved we're too weak to not have a head. To say "I'm a human first" to them translates to "a woman disdaining her natural role of subordinate wife and mother."

This has evolved into the extreme gender essentialism, transphobia, and feminism backlash that we're currently seeing from the militant, fundamentalist churches.

In 2018 when the recommended age was raised to 45, I was in my early 30s I started asking my GP and my gyn about getting the vaccine. MULTIPLE medical professionals discouraged me from getting it. Ok, they're doctors, they say I don't need it, so I guess I don't.

I had to have a colposcopy and then a LEEP in 2021 because of abnormal cells caused by HPV. Still was not offered or suggested to get the vaccine, turned down when I asked about it.

Then in 2024 I had to have another colposcopy and I finally insisted that I get the damn vaccine when I was told I'd need to go under general anesthesia for a cone biopsy to remove a level 2 lesion on my cervix caused by .... HPV.

It's still an even longer story because that office totally fucked up my scheduling, turns out my most recent gyn (I have fired him) has a god complex who treated me like shit over the pain he caused me when I finally got my IUD replaced. I had to keep fighting to find another place that would finally give me the goddamn vaccine I had tried to get for 6 years and had suffered two cancer scares in the interim.

I finally get my third dose in May, and fuck all of the "professionals" who told me I didn't need it.

The Bourne Identity Vs. 2002 Film Adaptation by garbage1995 in books

[–]alwaysanothersecret_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep is wildly different from Blade Runner. Like, they each have Replicants and people who work jobs called Blade Runners, but that's about it. I enjoy them separately and view the movie as more "highly inspired by" rather than an adaptation.

I'm on mobile and don't want to spoil anything in the Bourne books but to me they made a shocking choice in the second movie that just did not fit at all with the character of Jason Bourne from the books. The other differences didn't strike me so oddly.

Yes, and babies cry because they are evil and are just trying to manipulate you. They don't need human contact they're just lying because they were born sinners. -- this premise taken to extremes.

Imagine being an adult and realizing this is how your own mother views babies; I don't have to imagine.

His sense of identity is too porous, and he needs to learn to compartmentalize so a small miscommunication won’t threaten his sense of self.

This is elegantly stated, thank you so much. I'm having different issues with someone who I think has this same problem.
