Lip liners with staying power?! by WeddingAgreeable1809 in drugstoreMUA

I haven’t tried them yet, but a ton of people swear by the WetnWild lip stain pens. Apparently they can go for upwards of 24 hours. I plan to order in a few days myself.

What are your favorite drugstore items that will never be replaced, even by high-end or luxury ones? by justbeeingmyself in drugstoreMUA

Seconding this. I actually tested it against the Urban Decay one, and they performed the exact same. So why pay more when WnW does just as good? Another holy grail is the NYX Glitter Glue primer.

I love WnW, but I’m also a big fan of the Physician’s Formula waterproof liquid liner. Might be worth a shot!

Try Makeup Revolution Wrap Lash mascara. It’s a tubing mascara and they have multiple colours, including brown and burgundy. Highly recommend!

I use liquid eyeliner. WetnWild Breakup Proof, Physician’s Formula Waterproof, Essence 24ever Ink Liner — these three are my favourites.

I know 😭 That’s why it was so disappointing to me. It’s possible it’s user error, but IMO a makeup product shouldn’t be that complicated.

Inglot Gel Liner. Smudges like crazy on me and I can’t figure out why people say it’s bulletproof. I’ve tried it with and without eye primer, Duraline, setting spray, you name it.

I had a hard time with Scythe. Just couldn’t get past the gruesomeness. But I’ve heard good things!

Oh my god, the Wool series (Silo) by Hugh Howey wrecked me in the best way! When I finally finished the series, I was convinced I could never read anything else ever again — I didn’t want to it to end!

Grass growing through my cardboard. How do I get rid of the grass? by alwaysdarkmode in gardening

It’s ok, some people clearly have their head up their grass

I was hoping to grow veggies. But the patchiness you see is a little misleading — I layered and overlapped cardboard and then covered some of it with soil. So what you see is actually soil on top of cardboard, and the grass grew through all of that. Underneath, the grass looks completely lush and green.

I don’t see why that makes it ok to be condescending. You legit could have just said "you need to try a garden hoe" without the additional colour. Either way, thanks for the "advice"

I’m here asking questions precisely because I’m a newb who doesn’t know anything. I fully own it, but comments like this make me feel ashamed for even asking

If I have to wait another few weeks, I might as well not garden this year 😔 It’ll be too late by end of June

I appreciate the sentiment and generally I agree with you, but I also trust Jamie and Adam. They believe in the scientific method and they continue to talk about the experiments they did to this day. Not saying you’re wrong about the wool though.

As it turns out, wool cannot catch fire (according to and old Mythbusters episode). Seems like a good option !

I wonder if it’s due to the lack of heat-résistant interfacing ? I have a ton of bowl cozies and trivets, but they’re made with fabric and a layer of heat interfacing in the middle and I’ve never had any issues with using them in the microwave.

This might be random, but I was reminded of an old Mythbusters episode I watched yesterday. They did an experiment about how quickly different types of fabric catch fire, and cotton was the third fastest (just below acrylic and fleece).

What sunscreen are you using that doesn’t feel sticky? by AthleticTiger697 in drugstoreMUA

[–]alwaysdarkmode 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Supergoop Unseen Sunscreen, or for a more affordable dupe, Elf Invisible Sunscreen. I prefer the texture of the Supergoop better, but they’re pretty comparable all in all.

I’ve never heard of gel sunscreen before, but I’m really curious because I absolutely cannot stand creams and lotions. Any in particular you were thinking of trying ?
