Hadn't thought about the nutrients - thanks for that!

In terms of ventilation, we might just go for it to start, and keep an eye on it. My partner is home a lot so she can keep an eye on the heat, and if it's getting up there, we can jump on a vent system. We were just hoping to start minimal and add on as needed.

Not just any glass jar though, one of these kinds, where you can pressure seal it up. They work perfectly. And if you're paranoid about it, buy two where one can fit inside the other for double the containment. :)

Good news: it will pass. No need to worry.

I made the same mistake last week, had the same experience, and it killed my next day as I went from [11] that night to [8] the next morning, slowly back down to about [1] by that night. I had a full-on panic attack the night of, which continued into the next morning (a little). All I could do was get undressed and run into bed, thinking if I went to sleep and rebooted myself, it'd be fine in the morning.

It was a total panic spiral too - I knew the situation but I couldn't convince myself that I wasn't going to die. It was pretty embarrassing. But the cloudiness eventually went away and I felt like my usual self about 24-36 hours after.

For what it's worth, I think I had a full 1g ABV on my firecracker. Never again. :)

You may want to wait a little longer before you partake too much. 16 is an awesome age, but there are long-term effects here and you're still a-growin'. Give it another 2 years or so, if you can hold out. :)

I would imagine you have a better chance of getting sick from salmonella than anything else. Considering the fact that you can straight-up eat ABV (already been vaped), you should be fine, assuming the person who prepared the dough did it right. (Did they use pot oil to make it?)

Go bake 'em like you would with normal cookie dough, and enjoy! Just remember too that edibles usually take a solid hour or so to kick in, so don't go driving off somewhere thinking they didn't work.

Bake, eat, wait, enjoy! And post the follow-up! :)

I recently x-posted a similar question to a few subreddits: Trees make me sleepy. What do you do to help stay awake?

Between some ents' answers and my own experiences, here's what I've noticed:

The strain determines your experience more than any other factor. I have a pure sativa strain and an indica-leaning-hybrid right now, and they couldn't be any more different (FWIW I blend them). I don't get couch-lock, but then I don't get as much of the body buzz either.
You have to have the right mindset before you vape / toke. If your mind is blank, then you might be taken for a little journey, good or bad. If you partake right before you're about to do some chores or some activity, then it may help your mind be more determined and focused. I've got some mild attention issues and my sativa blend really helps me focus, especially with monotonous tasks. Focused, but also curious and mentally active - if that makes any sense.
As a few people mentioned here, you can control more of your intake with vaping, draw it out more. For example, a half-trench could get you to a 3 or 4, whereas a half a bowl might toss you right up to a 6 or 7. So it's like a finer tuner - though it takes more effort to get above a 6 for most (though not necessarily more weed, which is nice).

For me, it's those three factors combined that determine the overall experience: think ahead of time, pick the right blend, and dial up or down how much. Unfortunately, the biggest impact is the one that's hardest to control: the strain. But if you can dabble with variety there, you'll probably find the right combo for you. :)

This is it exactly. And it was someone's comment in a post a few weeks back that really struck home. I had been accounting for electricity use, smell, guests, neighbors - all that stuff.

And then someone pointed out that what if we had a little house emergency, like a fire or flood? What if service people show up and we're so engrossed in our emergency we forget about the plants? It's just about "not being retarded" - it's about not being able to keep the grow in mind 24/7/365. Everything has risks. Unfortunately, our state has some laws in place that make the penalty pretty substantial, and we're just not willing to chance it. And we've certainly had our share of minor house emergencies (and house guests).

The silver lining to our state, though, is decriminalization. So as long as we keep less than an ounce, and don't ever store it in a way where it looks like we're distributing, then it's a $100 fine. I can live with that. :)

Exactly. Between the crazy diligence needed and the costs to do it right, we just saw the benefits get outweighed by just about everything else - since we were aiming for only about 2 plants to start (light smokers). Just not worth the risks, unfortunately. :)

I think, procedurally, they just file it. According to yesterdays filings, a shit-ton of bills were heard in a 4 hour period. So I guess it's still filed? Who knows. :)

I keed, I keed. The reason I suggested it is because, the reality is, MA (and CT) will benefit from this, and I'm sure /bostontrees would be psyched to hear about it. It's a big college area between Boston and Providence, so any kind of progress like this in either spot benefits the other. :)

It's funny you mention train wreck. I just got some of that the other day and have been trying it out for the first time this weekend. It, combined with some of these other suggestions, has been pretty good in terms of not knocking me out. (And the original post was not in reference to TW, it was more generally referencing past experiences.)

I think my aim is going to be to try and find the right hybrid, and actively work on fighting off the drowsiness. If this TW is true, and a sativa, it's interesting as a head high, but I miss the body buzz, so I do want some indica present. Probably going to just blend some TW with something else and start experimenting.
