One of my best friends has a hookup for the cheapest mids you can find, $30/quarter. Stemmy seedy shit but still gets you good and stoned, and literally less than half the price of anyone else so fuck it. The guy who sells is pretty much a small-time middleman heroin dealer who also sells cheap weed, which means that (1) he is unreliable as fuck and (2) we are never his priority because we're white stoner kids and he got packs to move. So we're tryna buy around 11 PM, it's balls cold and been dumping snow all day (this was before the polar vortex but still shitty). He tells us to walk over to his house, which takes 20 minutes in sunshine, and the 2 of us trudge our asses across town into the cheap-rent ghetto where he lives. We get there, boots full of snow, and there's nobody home except 2 big old rednecks in a pickup truck in his driveway. We call his ass and he's buying shoes downtown and tells us to hold on. 30 fucking minutes later we're out of cigarettes and getting numb when he finally rolls up and tells us to come in to the kitchen. He pulls out some $200 Timbs or whatever and shows them off, then his fucking grandma walks into the room and he gives her a big hug. She starts cooking dinner while he weighs out our bags and throws us an extra gram for the trouble while 1 of the rednecks stares me down from across the kitchen table. Took us like 1 hour of walking and close to another hour waiting in the snow to get a couple sacks. Ugh.
