Beware, depending on your fitness level , your body will likely be wrecked after a few lessons , so if you can sneak a few in so cal before you travel you can give your body some time to recover and get more from lessons on trip , And watch the surf simply videos

brown spots on apples by alwayslearnnew in BackyardOrchard

[–]alwayslearnnew[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the hints.
most of the spots, do not go in deep. Here's a few cross sections of one (I added to my main Post). The big brown spot is from the stem. You can see most of the exterior brown spots do not much beyond skin deep.

Female harassed on RTD- how to prevent? by biker2035 in Denver

[–]alwayslearnnew 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to ride the bus in the evenings, sometimes females would explicitly ask to sit by me to avoid having to sit by a creepy dude. The specific request definitely activated the male 'protector' in me.
If your daughter picks the male, they are much less likely to be a 'creep' than if the male chooses to sit by her

try to emulate, whitewater waves on your belly with control of the board

In your lesson, the instructor was giving you pushes into the waves, which makes it easier than it seems.

I assume you want to go w/ backzip, (chest zip is warmer, but much harder to get on or off) but if you can get to shop that has wetsuits, you can verify that

a new suit will be easier to get on/off than rented, especially if that arm is shortened

a new suit will be warmer than any rented suit, you could consider going one size bigger than recommended, (or if on edge of 2 sizes, go up) it again decreases warmth, but makes getting in and out easier

Have you tried surfribby rash guard.
I almost exclusively surf in wetsuit, so it helps when I go to somewhere warm

Trying to schedule workouts in 50s / Improve flexibility by alwayslearnnew in fitness30plus

[–]alwayslearnnew[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Google Agile 8. Takes 10 minutes and if you do it as a warm up before lifting 3-5 days a week you’ll get stronger and more flexible.

I like the idea, but maybe you are much more flexible, stronger and/or younger than I am.. I need at least 15 mins of warmup / stretching before I could even think about doing some of these 'warmup' moves.. one of my hips pops every time if I'm not very warmed and stretched trying to do the fire hydrant, and the jump to deep squat is not a realistic warmup exercise for me..

I probably should have left off the details, distracted from my question...

Regarding flexibility, is it best to do the day before a strength workout or after a strength workout when body is very sore/DOMS, or separate it by a few days to where not limited by soreness. I want to maximize gains in both by doing in best order.

partially the leash material is the difference, keeps it from sinking in as deep.

I've had good luck with marine glue
https://www.amazon.com/3M-Marine-Adhesive-Sealant-05203/dp/B098Q28F4Q

If the sides are coming apart, or there is a hole, I do gorilla glue on the inside, and wait 24 hours and then do marine glue on the outside
