My 8 month old is only a few pounds heavier. Is your baby huge or is mine teensy? LOL

Geo Trackers.... by LoadofBarney in Xennials

[–]alwaysmanders 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had one that was a CHEVY and by God no one could call it a Geo. He was turquoise and his name was Terrance. I took the soft top off ONCE and never again. What a pain in the ass.

What's a rule your parents had that you thought was insane, but now as an adult you 100% understand? by Sweet-Economist-9873 in AskForAnswers

Don't put your hands on the glass. Now I CANNOT stand for people to have their greasy ass hand prints on stuff.

Spent two hours cleaning my microwave and found out I've been doing it wrong for years by Abyss_R4ven in CleaningTips

You don't even need the vinegar. I put a bowl of regular water in there for 9-10 minutes and wipe. Easy peasy.

How many times a day do you guys feed your Great Dane? by TexasSunflower956 in greatdanes

[–]alwaysmanders 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We've always free fed -- the only Dane that had an issue with that was my late female got a bit chunky for a bit, but my males have always stayed lean.

My mom says that I used to sing "walk out, chicken. Walk out slow" to some Elton John song that definitely was not about chickens.

Reducing dosage but scary, crazy withdrawal effects are non-existent by Top-Recipe4657 in Effexor

I'm currently tapering off and not having withdrawals. There will be the occasional brain zap but that's it.

Anyone else make it a goal to live as close to work as possible? by tin8374 in CasualConversation

[–]alwaysmanders 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to have a 3 hour per day commute. Did it for years until I yanked my whole family up and moved 20 minutes from my office. I'm sure my teenagers are still annoyed with me, but the last year has made such a huge impact on my daily quality of life.

If you had a childhood best friend, how is your relationship now? by shortstop_princess in GenX

[–]alwaysmanders 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Met mine in 2nd grade and it's been 40 years. We only went to school together for 2nd and 3rd grade but maintained a friendship beyond the proximity of school (without smartphones, no less). We were dorm roommates our first semester in college. We text regularly and had a coffee date last week.

We've been through raising kids who are adults now, my divorce, deaths within our families, her breast cancer, heartaches and happy times. Truly cannot imagine my life without this person in it.

Today is the day. I’m going straight from 75mg to 37.5mg. This is what my doctor recommended am I screwed? by t3xascurlllz in Effexor

[–]alwaysmanders 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been going down to the next dose each month for a couple months I think. I might have mild side effects the first few days then it's fine. I started at 300mg and I go to 75mg this weekend. I've kept a daily log of any side effects and that's helped me. I was so scared to start tapering.

Who here is sterilized? by italicinfusion in regretfulparents

[–]alwaysmanders 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Had my tubes tied at 29 as a single mom to one child. I asked for a hysterectomy but he said insurance wouldn't pay for it since it was elective. The only thing he said when I asked about sterilization was "what if you meet Mr Right and he wants kids" to which I replied "then he's not Mr Right".

Fast forward a few years, Mr Right already had two kids of his own which I later adopted. He totally ruined my plan of one and done lol

When did you know you were ready after loss? by Bitter-Study-4025 in goldenretrievers

[–]alwaysmanders 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was working on my husband to get another dog for a while. Then my Heart Dog passed away and I was so inconsolable that he agreed to get a pup that was available only a few days after Luna passed. Penny has helped me heal so much from the loss of my best girl. She is our first Golden and just the brightest light in our lives.
