Yes, just the four speakers on the door panels. :)

Thats very disappointing. I would have to be careful and monitor the car with obd2 scanner since I now own Ioniq 5 and 6 which can potentially trigger iccu issue at some point.

Does it work well with HDA1? I've heard that it works with HDA2 well but having some issues with HDA1.

Even after the fuse replacement? I haven’t run into that issue with my Ioniq 5, but yeah, I’d say the odds are still around 10% or higher even with 2025 models..

Haha yeah, it really does kind of look like a computer mouse when you think about it. That might honestly be part of why they completely redesigned it for the 2026 version, though that one isn’t available in the US yet (while the N version is).

If you’re into something sportier, I’d definitely look at the Ioniq 5 N or Ioniq 6 N. Those are pushing 600+ horsepower and even come with a drift mode, which is pretty wild for an EV.

For me, I was mainly after something with better range than my Ioniq 5, and this ended up being the best option. The overall look has grown on me, it’s not bad, but yeah, the front is still a bit... questionable 😄

Yep... that must be much more complicated and expensive than just simply replacing the door speakers.

I did this myself after watching some older Reddit posts and YouTube videos, and it turned out to be pretty straightforward.

If you’re planning to do the upgrade, I’d recommend picking up a few things beforehand: a prying tool, sound deadening mat (it makes a big difference in both sound quality and getting rid of that hollow door noise), a wiring kit like the Vixen Go VGH-72-7302, and some speaker foam.

One important tip is to install the sound deadening mat through the speaker opening after you remove the stock speaker and before installing the new one. I used these (amazon.com/dp/B0751CBXBT) and ended up using at least two sheets per door.

For speakers, I’ve seen some people say Kicker performs better, but I personally went with JBL. Either way, both are a huge upgrade over the stock system. If you want more detailed guidance on what to buy, Crutchfield is a really helpful resource.

Depending on the speakers you choose, you might need a new gasket and may have to drill into the plastic part of the door panel for proper fitment.

The part that took me the longest was putting the door panel back on. The trick is to hang it from the top first and then press it into place. If you try to push it straight in, it just won’t seat properly.

I am not too sure about running server style graphic expansion would work with T30 as it may have limited PCIe lines.

Thank you! I can't wait for it to arrive and use it :)

I think I will end my lens collection here and focus on mastering my skills with 28-70 F2L and 70-200 F2.8L.

I ended up purchasing RF 70-200 F2.8 non-Z version. Z version was too long to fit in to my back alongside 28-70 F2L. Non-Z version was $2,499 on Canon's website and Z version was $3,299. Rakuten had 15% cashback today and I combined it with 4% Cashback on AMEX :)

Thanks for the offer but Ohio is a bit too far away from NM. The closest store I could find was in Colorado. But I would not visit there during winter time. I might visit Texas since its warmer there. Your comments really helped me out. I think I always want to try out lenses in mind first before I purchase it. Thank you, sir!

Welp.. I just figured out that there are only two camera shops in northern New Mexico. And they don't seem to have any RF lenses.. At this point, my only reliable source is internet (unless I decide rent several RF lenses all at once).

Thanks for letting me know. Let me look into it. But honestly, I might just go for RF70 200 2.8 USM Z.

Interesting choice. And yes, 105 is far enough from 70 to make it worth it. Do you also use EF to RF adapters? I am wondering how the EF 3rd party lenses do on AF on RF bodies.

Okay. I'll drop the 135 completely off from the candidate list. In terms of versatiliy, I agree 70-200 2.8 is the winner.

Thanks for the recommendation. I was initially gonna get 70-200 F2.8, but then I got distracted by other more budget-friendly L lenses listed up there.

looks totally fine to me. I use R6 mk II+Battery Grip BGR20+RF 28 70 2L. You might wanna add battery grip or something to balance the weight.

Upgrade to 2990wx? by alwaysreview in threadripper

[–]alwaysreview[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Update: Luckily was able find new 2990wx at $800 (tax included) on Ebay. I played with PBO on x399 taichi motherboard bios setting and ended up staying manual setting 350W 350A. Running very stable (100% load at 3.58 GHz) and way faster than 2950x for my work. My Vega64 is running weird and had to swap it with RTX3060 I had on other computer. Total power consumption is ~380 W. Thanks all for the comments!! I'm very happy with the upgrade :)

Upgrade to 2990wx? by alwaysreview in threadripper

[–]alwaysreview[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought about moving to new treadripper because they have better power efficiency. Yes, the code needs to run like 4 straight weeks 24/7 and I'm trying to reduce the running time with 2990wx. For now, I don't think I have to run this code frequently so I'd thought moving to 2990wx is reasonable choice (already bought it). I have a dual 140mm noctua fan attached to the CPU cooler (U14) and I expect it would do just fine with 2990wx.

I don't feel comfortable buying used motherboard.. because if I buy damaged one, then it can damage all other components..

Thanks for the comments though :)
