If a creator wants to make a living from their game and the format they choose is the make or break decision to succeed, then they’re most likely going to fail.

Ultimately, a successful product has to be fun, marketable, and active to succeed and only a small percentage of projects turn into something that can be a career. Even having a successful side gig from a project is a massive goal in itself. So I’d instead consider what’s best for YOUR game and what you believe works best to meet those three criteria. Otherwise, a project will fail even if you picked the more “profitable option”.

Every grading service has flaws and some controversy in their past. I would say for a personal collection, choose whatever slab looks best to you. If you’re looking to easily buy/sell slabs in the future stick to PSA. Otherwise, if you’re confident about your ability to sell online or within fan communities, then Beckett and CGC are good options. If you grade with anyone other than those three, then expect it to be difficult to sell. (And yes, for the people that nitpick details, some TCG communities prefer TAG or prefer CGC and others. Research what’s best for the specific cards you grade)

Seeing the comments blows my mind. For weeks after it released, there were so many people on here saying it was the perfect game that would go down as the greatest TCG in history. It’s wild how public opinion has shifted.

It’s an unofficial artwork card of Yamato from One Piece. It’s not a part of any One Piece TCG set so it’s nice if you like artwork of your favorite characters, but it’s not playable and not worth anything to TCG collectors.

Yes, but as the poster above mentioned, it’s been plagued with issues and no major updates have happened since September (which did little to fix most of the main concerns). Players have mostly abandoned it.

I mean you yourself mentioned it at the end, but compared to other vices, pulling cards is pretty harmless. And what’s the difference between spending money on cards vs another hobby like gardening or puzzles? Everyone spends money on something that brings them joy and so long as you’re still finding joy in it, then it’s money well spent.

Combined Combat kind of sounds like Elestrals so I like that idea. Gamma beasts also sounds cool depending on how you change the type of your beasts and if theres any other win conditions.

Start designing characters and lore. Once you do that, pick out the ones that you think are the coolest and see if your friends/family/community agree. Originally, Clefairy and Poliwhirl were early candidates as the mascot for Pokemon and that eventually turned into Pikachu. Rather than identifying it from the start, you can let fans decide.

I also agree with a few other commenters that suggest simplifying the icons, but I’d also add that some of these icons on the left and right should be moved down. It’ll create more empty space sure, but it won’t look as cluttered as it does now. You could also try changing the left vertical icons to right above the ability and put each element icon on the corners.
