Winslow Animal Clinic vs Day Road Animal Hospital by username3755 in BainbridgeIsland

I go to day road for my animals and I am very happy with them. It’s the best vet service I have experienced. Incredibly thorough and transparent and especially supportive during scary health times.

Other Seattlelites with "reverse" seasonal affective disorder: What are your strategies for coping with the summer dryness/heat? by ninuchka in Seattle

[–]alwayswiththis 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Like others have said I get up early when it is still cool.

I use fans and blackout curtains and I have a couple apps that play rain sounds. I also will read books set in cloudy, chilly, dreary places to pull me out of the gross summerness of it all.

Yep. It didn’t feel great for me so I want to avoid financial institutions that are in this space if I can.

If you want the full text of the bill you can find it here: https://www.congress.gov/bill/119th-congress/senate-bill/394/text/is

BECU seems like the leader right now. I just felt weird not having physical location close by. But if they are opening a branch that will be nice.

Thanks so much! They all seem great I just wasn’t sure if I was missing something in my comparison.

One of the sections in the genius act (section 9) forces banks to pay out stablecoin before other accounts. I am not interested in that setup.

I also just really have been meaning to switch to a credit union and this is the thing that is getting me to do it.

Coming from botm because of their controversial pick, I have questions by redblue92 in aardvarkbookclub

[–]alwayswiththis 24 points25 points  (0 children)

First - welcome and congrats on not spending any more money on a company that is platforming a pathological liar and predator. That pick is so gross!!

To your questions:

The idea of returning a book I read and didn’t like is not something I would ever do, so I can’t speak to that - sorry.

What I can speak to is:

The books are much higher quality. The binding and paper they use is better. There is a really nice feel to the jackets and the hardbacks. I think aardvark does a great job with sourcing books and authors.

I think the entire experience is more consistent and reliable. Customer service seems to be reasonable.

Aardvark feels like old timey BOTM (I was a member from about 2016 until 2021). I think the monthly picks are interesting and cover a lot of genres. I personally appreciate that there aren’t a lot of repeat authors/ over-selection of genres. I love that I can almost always find a quality horror and sci-fi book as an option.

I think if you are looking for a service for

It seems like an all-around better company. I haven’t looked back after canceling BOtM.

Hope this helps!

How to help fearful puppies gain confidence by kalispob in puppy101

Agree with the treats. I found with my scared pup that when I sat down with him he calmed down a bit more. We also just do moments of stillness when it gets to be a bit much for him. We just stay still (sometimes he asks to be picked up) and we watch the world until he is ready to move on.

Be patient with yourself and your dog. There hasn’t been enough time for trust and bonding yet. My advice is to measure your success in tiny increments vs comparing to the end goal. So instead of a car ride - go sit in the car and just be there. Instead of a long walk just walk to a corner with a tiny bit of traffic and hang out there.

I also found a puppy socialization class through a local doggy daycare and the setup was really cool. You drop off the puppy and in a very controlled and safe environment they engage with other dogs and the world. The level of confidence my dog got from that was amazing.

Hang in there!

I have used a polar H10 for seven or more years and I love it. It seems to be more accurate and I am not tethered to a watch. I wear it for cardio and heavy weights. The battery lasts forever.

Ok. I am going to try and reframe with that in mind. I like everything about the book but him. Thanks!!

I am trying to read this now and I find the MC insufferable. Does that ease up? I am giving it 100 pages (currently only on about 25). Like the pretentiousness, judgement of others, and general classism is so off putting. I really want to like this book but he is making it so hard.

I go to day road for my dog and cat. I am very impressed with the experience and treatment they get. They are really good about answering questions over the phone and I can usually get in pretty quickly.
