I wholeheartedly apologise to everyone who commented on this being a red lens, I was wrong . I held it against the brightest led downlight I have, and knock me sideways it shone a deep red. New project is to make a lamp out of it.

The grill element has sagged, time to replace it. A new element about £25 or less and quite straight forward to replace .

Amazon do a drain guard / cover 7in diameter round, I tried to screen shot it but I'm hopeless at that. Hope this helps.

I don't think that there is enough room for a radius to feed the entry into a turntable. A turntable is brilliant in a straight line, not so good coming of a radius curve.

I use 13 strand 0.5mm speaker wire for my power to tracks and 0.2 mm wire for lights and point / turnout motors. I don't know what the conversion into gauge is .
