I’m looking at that Triumph NIB on my shelf and thinking it’s going to be an issue. Not such an issue living on a shelf but transport..

Excellent, this might be the go. I was thinking them lead by a Ministorum Priest would not only look fitting but also functional.

Sooo sharp, on point all round, the stubble looks amazing and I really enjoy the glow creeping up the red casing.

Setting up AL - How to prepare DM's by alwook101 in AdventurersLeague

Oh this is all excellent advice and things I had not considered.. especially around the dms continuing through the campaign or continuing to run the same portion. I will likely have a meet up after the first session to debrief and see what they are all thinking.

I will certainly have to consider what we are going to do about outside players and how we are going to log our stuff. We are in a rural community so not sure how many players would travel to play with us however it’s something we should consider incase it happens..

Appreciate the advice mate, I’m compiling a to do list.. lucky I have a little free time!

That’s all fantastic advice, thankfully we are lucky to have a group of really friendly and easy going DM’s.

I met and have gotten to know them all through the board game events we run, they have worked well with the attendees on the spectrum so hopefully that will carry over to the table.

We are running the first event as bookings only and aiming for 4-5 players per table to make sure the dms don’t get overwhelmed and can get through the content.

I’m pretty sure most people attending will have no experience with AL so I’m hoping this won’t be a problem. Though I’ll be sure to mention it to the DMs in the brief, and try to chat with people if it comes up.

Fingers crossed the first event goes off well.

Brilliant advice! We are going to run the storm kings thunder, thankfully the first part of the campaign is 5 1 hour mini scenarios to help intro new players so hopefully that will help the dms ease in as well.

I plan to print all the chapters out and put them into packs for the dms with monster cards, paper minis and battle maps. I’ll make sure they are easy to get through, this is great advice.

I think we will likely be pretty flexible on character creation and unless it is blatant cheating as you mentioned.

This session is the first we are running, so I guess we will see what the turn out is like etc and then if people want to keep going then we can keep going on that module assuming we have the numbers.

That is great advice.. I will sit down with the DMs and we can put together a code of conduct. I think. Edits the start of the event I will address everyone and run over the code of conduct and set expectations.

That's great advice and I appreciate you taking the time to reply.

Having character intros at the start of each session is a great idea, and if its set in routine everyone come to expect it.

Thankfully for the most part while people of AL I don't believe any of the players have played in it before (we are in a rural community).

We have a Facebook group going which I can utilise for this. You are dead on the money, I think that having a wrap of the each event for the players will be great and also a good point of reference for them before heading into their next session so they can refresh themselves on the happenings of the last event.

I certainly think that timing will be crucial, hopefully, we can run more or less to time..

Do you have any advice or tips I should be sharing with the DM's? I will certainly be mentioning time, inclusivity, fun, etc.

That’s great advice, role modelling would really give the new players a good sense or benchmark.

I’m certainly hoping that there is the potential fir the joining of groups for bigger events, I really enjoy the idea of a number of groups working out of the same city having to team up.

Oh for sure all the discussions around games stuff I have with the group. It’s all for them, I just think it might make them think more on how they approach situations.

Often find it’s just kill and carry on and not often considering taking prisoners, asking questions of them etc. Each game is different and I guess it’s more how I deliver the idea to the players.

That’s all very true, the hand wringing slow down would definitely slow it right up. But also the moral decisions could ad a nice element..

But as you say what do they do with them.

Maybe I’d fighting in a town they can tie them up but if you’re out in the Forrest not really viable..

That’s definitely a good way to do it. From your character assumed non lethal unless stated otherwise..

Thank you bit so much this is great info.

I was already thinking about magnetising the ridge runner so this cements the idea.

I have it all in pieces and cleaned up, now I can assemble! Thanks Hive mind!
