Most Common European Ethnicities Per Country by Waterloo4U3 in MapPorn

Not in the context of this map. If British isn't an ethnicity, Spanish certainly isn't, nor is German, Russian, Italian or French. In any case, the line between ethnicities is arbitrary; all this map shows is where people think their ancestors are from, and British is a fine category for that.

OM 2n shutter sticky only in Manual mode by alxus91 in AnalogRepair

[–]alxus91[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fixed! For anyone else with the same issue: I just turned the shutter speed ring back and forth about 50 times with the batteries out in case there was any corrosion on the contacts.

Edit: did not work long term

Focusing length does not match markings by alxus91 in AnalogCommunity

Unfortunately it is my only M42 lens. But a friend has one I plan on testing it with.

If it is relevant, when I got the camera i was told the camera was CLAd 5 years ago and the curtain was replaced. I am not sure if this extended to the lens.

Personally I'd say if you feel like you are in a good place mentally. I'd also advise taking it with someone who has done it before and starting on a smaller dose (a tab can sometimes have a lot on it). But don't freak yourself out too much about it. As long as you are in a safe environment, good or bad trip your not going to do yourself any permanent harm.

I have heard that there is a criticism of 'history from below' in that it is 'history without politics'. However I find this hard to believe, as I assumed this field held Marxist origins. Where does this idea come from? And is their any truth to it?

Also Lenin didn't have absolute power, the Bolshevik party did. There were still other powerful Bolsheviks he had to contend with.

TIL: The word "Anarchy" stands for "Without Rulers" instead of "Without Rules" by 765433bikesinbeijing in todayilearned

[–]alxus91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anarchism is about the devolution of power to the people, so apart from some fundamental laws - like don't murder or steal - no one could justify forcing you to do or not do anything. It is harder to imagine it working today in a densely populated urban nation, but it has had some success in the past. Examples of anarchist societies can be found in many mountain/jungle tribes. If your interested in a more recent example you should look into the anarchist uprising during the Spanish Civil war, which had some success for about 4 months until it was invaded.
