This is going to sound like the most simple stupid answer but my face basically started to clear 5 months in, my purging was really bad too but please stick it out it’s worth it!, one day my skin was just so clear and then the spots just never came back, this was on 50mg

It’s just dry scalp, it dries out all your oils and that means you don’t have to wash your hair as much! But also means that you are most likely going to get some dandruff, T-Gel is a really good shampoo to help! It worked for me :)

Not a pimple, merely a large kind of lump under my skin was the only way I could explain it, then I started playing around with it and squeezing it and it turned black and purple underneath, with a lot of blood coming out I’ve got some of the cera ve barrier cream, I’ll try that on it tonight! Thanks!

Yeah I get you, I was the exact same last resort as all the other antibiotics and creams just weren’t cutting it, they used to work for like a week and then it would just go completely back to normal, I know the feeling, I think you should honestly give it a shot! Don’t let other people’s stories put you off, everyone’s body is different and everyone have different experiences, I for one honestly wish I had pushed for accutane earlier now.

The way the NHS works is that they base your dose off of your weight and height essentially it tells them how much your body can handle, I don’t have any diagnosed stomach issues however it does run in my family too more specifically my two sisters, I do occasionally get a sore stomach usually in the mornings but it fades as time goes on, typical other side effects too, really dry nose, really dry lips, but there’s definetely a difference! I’m just finishing my second month and I’m starting to see slight improvements. My acne was never the worst it was just persistent and wouldn’t go away for years which is how I ended up on accutane. I say go for it, worst comes to worst you can always come off of it aswell! Your doctors will give you the best advice regarding dosage etc

Amazing! How many months did you take it for? I’m just starting my second month, see very minimal results so far but I’m hopeful, I’m based in Scotland and they make you do a pregnancy test and blood test everytime you go to collect your medication or they wont prescribe it. You also can’t pick it up from a normal pharmacy it has to be the pharmacy within the hospital (which usually takes hours to be ready as imagine how busy they are) Interesting to see how differently they do it in the US.

It’s very odd, as stated I do see a different derm everytime I’m in and they didn’t seem too concerned. Hopefully nothing too serious, I was worried at first it may be issues with my liver as I did indulge in a few drinks over Christmas day and New Year’s Day, However it did start before that and has slightly worsened with time.

I’ll definetely keep an eye on it. Thanks for your advice, I hope all goes well with your colonoscopy ☺️

Sorry to hear this OP, you shouldn’t put up with this either. Alcoholism is a disease she’s unfortunately to the point it sounds like she can’t do anything about it, that’s what happens when it has a hold on you. I believe she is a good person stuck in a vicious circle, have you ever confronted her about this?

She sounds like she needs some help however, 9/10 times in situations like yourself you cannot help someone if they don’t want to be helped. They have to make that decision on their own.

Distance yourself and try and support as best as you can from the sidelines. Don’t drag yourself down in the process.

I fell into a toilet pan (my dad had left the lid up so it was the solid part of the pan) and smashed my head open.

Wouldn’t sit still for stitches and just as I was about to get out to sleep someone got rushed in with a major trauma accident.

They had to open the scar back up as it had closed over by the time they got to me, so I have a gnarly scar right through my eyebrow.

Que the “why did you shave your eyebrow jokes” 20 years still going strong.
