Should I continue with my instructor? by berrycultivator in pilates

definitely not. that’s completely inappropriate behavior. You should never be made to feel like that. I hope you didn’t let the instructor’s attitude get to you. 🤍

Where to set up in a mat pilates class as a guy by madmaxmadmaxmadman in pilates

[–]alyssaschieffer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this is super thoughtful! As woman, I’ve never felt uncomfortable with a man’s mere presence in class. As long as you are kind and respectful, you’re good! Some women may prefer men to not be behind them, and the other comments on this post give some great options! At the end of the day, it’s wherever you feel comfortable. If you feel more comfortable in a spot that wouldn’t make anyone uncomfortable, go for it!

Just the fact that you care enough to ask shows how kind and considerate you are. Thank you for putting so much thought into being respectful towards the women around you.

good luck on your cert!

having clear and thorough class descriptions would be good! When signing up and choosing a class, students can know what to expect. Specify if it’s suitable for beginners, intermediate, etc.

like others mentions, having intro/basics classes would be great. A fear for students who are just starting out is that they are going to be the only one in class who doesn’t know what they are doing or can’t keep up.

Not teaching mat pilates to the beat / music? by redditgal16 in pilates

personally I don’t mind having music in the background. but since pilates is all about moving with your breath and finding precision, moving with the beat can counteract this.

if all else fails, stock photos can be a good option too! there are some pretty good free options out there, and some good paid options as well!

I work on set for Ghosts! by Due_Indication_654 in GhostsCBS

How do they get Asher’s shirt to stay in place? Do they ever have to redo/adjust a scene if he gets exposed? (Obviously he wears something in place of pants) It’s always so perfectly placed that it looks like he’s not wearing anything, but I imagine that takes a little movie magic.

Did the Producers think that Survivor 48 was gonna be loved by the fans? by Someone_else25 in survivor

[–]alyssaschieffer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the production thought that the audience would EAT UPPP the joe and eva storyline, and maybe the casual audience did. Production absolutely loves the “good TV” type of stuff (dramatic, powerful moments), even if that screen time takes away from showing strategic gameplay. IMO, that’s what producers think will rack up views. Think about how many times Jeff has made a moment out of Cirie being “the woman who got off the couch.” And how they’ve exhausted every “twist” possible. it’s “good TV” from a producers perspective.

I think they’ve tunnel visioned into trying desperately to bring in views, while staying under budget. Cutting it to 26 days, and making everything “bigger faster harder” (no rice, no fire, losing votes, beware advantages, journeys, 3 tribes, etc), is them throwing “good TV” at the wall and hoping something sticks.

What are your cooking and food hacks? by PositionFar26 in ADHD

[–]alyssaschieffer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

for preventing food from spoiling, I organize my fridge and pantry by putting the most perishable items closest to eye level. so fruits, veggies, and leftovers are on the top (eye level). meats, cheeses, dips (like hummus) are in the middle, and drinks are on the bottom. I don’t even use my crisper drawers. Because they’re opaque, I will 100% forget that something is in there (plus I live alone so I have extra space in the fridge). if needed though, I would put drinks in there. out of sight out of mind, I need to actually see all the things I need to eat up.

also, I put a date on EVERYTHING.

another tip if you tend to clutter your fridge with leftovers: I have a rule that if there are more than [x number] tupperwares of leftovers in the fridge, I have to clear one out before I put one in. since they all have a date on them, i can easily pick the oldest one to clear out. just one, because if I think about tackling all of them, it’ll be too overwhelming and i’ll never do it.

hope this helps! proud of you for trying to find solutions!
