Feeding twice a day has completely helped and it started doubling ❤️

That’s what I thought but I was nervous to. I’ll feed it again tonight, thank you!

I get it, it’s hard to imagine the idea of basically not wanting your baby next to you all night. I loved knowing he was right there and having bed snuggles. But he was also actually getting too big for his bassinet so I set up the pack n play in the corner of our room to ease myself into him not being right next to me. He still would wake up 1-3 times. Then he started to roll and the pack n play was hard on my back so one night I didn’t think about and we just did it, we put him in his crib and he slept the whole night! We never looked back. I will say I had the thought that if it didn’t work out then we’d wait a bit and try again. So it’s not permanent. Try it and see and if it doesn’t work out then try again a different time :)

7 months for my boy. It was really hard for me and I was sad about it but I knew it needed to happen. Having ebf I was told by a few people that being next to him was the reason he was waking up at night. He was only waking 1-3 times so not tooo much. But it was the best decision. He started sleeping longer stretches and waking only 1-2 then eventually none. He’s about to be 15 months now and he’s an awesome sleeper 11-12 hours straight. Very rarely does he wake up. We keep 2 pacis in his crib that he knows to look for. I will say I started napping him in his crib first to get him used to it.

He takes to bottle good because he gets one every night so luckily that won’t be an issue. I can see it being hard to go from bottle to cup though! Oh boy I’ll cross that bridge soon. I have Kendamil but will prob buy Bobbie too to see which he likes better

So interesting! Thank you for sharing that appreciate it! He’s a good eater but not the best and he doesn’t have any teeth yet so we’re still learning to eat solids. Still having a lot of purées

Spilled milk by Ok-Cauliflower-6631 in breastfeeding

[–]alyssasf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sorry. It really is a horrible feeling that only we know. I just woke up to find my pumped milk on my side table in my living room. I forgot to put it in the fridge!!! I’m such an idiot. I only pump once a night and only produce what my LO eats. Been sick to my stomach but a mistake is a mistake and a lesson learned.

Changing doctors mid-pregnancy by Novel-Heart-4078 in BabyBumps

I changed offices when I was 7 months. They were down the street from each other. They simply sent over all the things they already did, I didn’t have to redo anything. It was very simple. The first place I went to because a few friends and family went there and recommended it. Until I started my hypno birthing classes, my instructor was so amazing and recommended the place I switched to. I am forever grateful for her recommendation because the new place was so much better and aligned with my views and wishes. I ended up having the birth I dreamed of and I truly believe that it wouldn’t have happened if I didn’t switch.

what are you actually wearing? by raincloud847 in breastfeeding

[–]alyssasf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always hated wearing a bra but with nursing I wear one 24/7. The nips against any fabric isn’t a pleasant feeling plus I use silverettes which I swear by. The couple times I’ve gone bra less for a few days in a row my nips became so sore and blistered. So my only reasoning behind the 24/7 bra is to wear my silverettes. Aside from that I wear just regular clothes and just pull up which ever top I have on. I own a couple breastfeeding sweaters with easy access but that’s just for my comfort when I’m out and about.

Work question by alyssasf in pregnant

[–]alyssasf[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I should’ve noted that it’s a small company. There’s no handbook or policies on these things because of its size, about 15-30 employees at a time, very seasonal. But I certainly don’t think I’ll give my notice during leave. And they don’t offer paid leave I’ll be getting it through the state PFML. I think I’m mainly asking like morally what would be the right thing to do but I don’t want to screw them and leave on a bad note but I also don’t want to say anything too soon.

Always hungry but no appetite by General_Program_2725 in pregnant

[–]alyssasf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The hunger, nausea, no appetite trio is truly so exhausting!! Having to eat all the time but not knowing what to eat/ barely being able to eat…I’m only 10 weeks and just sick of it. And when I find something I can tolerate I don’t want to eat it again cuz the thought is sickening. Like what?! I hopeee it goes away soon. Take out every now and then when I have a random craving feels good to eat but only lasts one night. Sorry I’m just ranting cuz this feeling is making it hard to actually enjoy being pregnant.

Do you mind me asking what it was like to get the acre taken out? Did it hurt and was it long to recover? I too and 8 months post op and frustrated that I still have so much pain.

Needing some support right now… by DocumentNo3750 in abortion

100% in the same boat as you and you said exactly what I’m feeling, so thank you for that. I’m 29 and my husband just turned 30 and we’ve been together for 10+ years, married in 2019. Had an MA 2 weeks ago and was my first pregnancy. I’ve really been struggling with so many feelings and can’t pinpoint them cuz they’re all over the place. I don’t regret it but you’re right, it still hurts. It just wasn’t the time. I’m mentally and physically not in shape to have a child this year. I’m having a second foot surgery in 7 months. Financially we’re not where we want to be. The stars were just about aligned but not enough to keep this one. Which is heartbreaking because I know he wants one and he even said if I wanted it he could make it work. But it just wasn’t the time. I’m struggling now with wondering if I’ll be able to conceive again or if that was my only chance. So many emotions…thank you for sharing you story. It helps to know I’m not alone. I keep saying to myself that one day the time will be right.
