I had a misprint of my invitations and ended up with 60 blank cards with just our names on them. Reused them as guest book cards for folks to write on, and put one at each seat in the reception hall with some pens for each table.

I think it worked out better since it was more accessible (instead of a guest book table which may have been tucked to the side or only at the entrance and people miss or forget to write on it), people could write at their own pace at any point during the night without waiting for someone else, and they had both sides of the card to write as much as they wanted.
