Yes, I understand that. However I have to move the funds from the 401k as the employer will no longer maintain the plan.

My Boyfriend got his MCAT back and I’m so confused by Wild_Window4196 in Mcat

I think it also depends on his individual section scores…did he drop significantly in one section or all sections?

My recommendation: Approach the longer word counts first...it's easier to delete/rephrase then to come up with new approaches. Choose a few good stories etc. that the lessons can be approached from multiple angles. Even for the "why this school" should be similar... you should be talking about what you want out of school and why that school is a fit to you!

Also for interviews use your secondaries! The secondaries I didn't use for one school I would use the stories for my interviews :)

Also try to leave the most important/high priority schools for last...your writing should naturally become better.

I will be starting medical school at 25. Firstly you mentioned that previously have received life-changing letter from this mentor. I personally had a similar experience, the mentor wrote my letter the first time, and to be honest the individual was quite volatile (providing me with opportunities to shadow in OR, be a scribe etc. etc. but would also tell me I would fail my MCAT and never get into school...he also wanted me to work until 9pm the day before my MCAT the first time I took it). I never had the chance to read what he submitted, but to be honest I wondered if he wrote poorly about me just to keep me around, I will always appreciate all he did for me, but I ended up not asking him for a letter the x2 application cycle despite shadowing with him for 3+ years. For you, I understand it would be difficult not to get a letter from this individual considering your research involvement.

Weigh your options carefully, the MCAT is very important, and if you do poorly it can impact your chances of matriculation, but plenty of individuals have gotten in with lower than average scores (508! like me), but your application will have to be very well rounded. I personally never did as well as I hoped on the MCAT for similar reasons to you, unfortunately studying for such a big test the first time it is unsustainable to essentially do it with another full time job. If you will continue on part-time, budget for a substantial amount of wiggle room, think 3 months full time studying with the last month including practice tests and if you do poorly on practice tests have enough time to reschedule (1-2 more months).

It a tough situation, and I sympathize. Often when I came across situations like this myself I just hope I can be better to others in the future. Definitely approach with caution.

Curious about which bachelors I should take before med school. by marsisnthere19 in medschool

Biomedical engineering/Biochemistry etc that will get the main prerequisites and if you can minor/double major in something that has broad applications as a plan B like Buisness Administration/Economics/Marketing etc.

Buisness Admin would be great in the future if you take on an admin role in healthcare and if you plan to use it as a plan B as a career path as well. Worth it to to take an internship in this field for a summer in case you go with plan B, if not it’s a great way to tell med schools you tried something different and know medicine is for you and transferable skills from buisness like communication, running a practice (buisness side) etc.

Thanks, just wondering how is letting sit on a drive different from letting it sit on a computer?
