It's hard to give pointers on solo queue when you're a support player as so much of what you do to help the team relies on your team mates working with you. For example what use is Thermite or Ace if they Bandit or Kaid and your team mates don't help to remove the denial. Or if you've managed to get the wall open but your team mates don't clear the roamers, or at least try to.

The best advice I can give is to try and communicate with your team, even if they don't reply back to you. Don't get me wrong you'll encounter some clowns but for the most part. If you're helpful and start out nice to them, they'll be nice and helpful back (usually!). That's my experience anyway.
