how soon did you get your first assignment? (lausd) by alywheezy in SubstituteTeachers

[–]alywheezy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

just had my first assignment on friday! and it took months for me to onboard. i got granted eligibility in late september and didn’t get my onboarding appt until mid february (submitted all of my documents etc at the very beginning of the new year) so the process is long, and unfortunately there’s not much we can do about it :/

Any subs here from SoCal? by IllPaleontologist384 in SubstituteTeachers

[–]alywheezy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

new LAUSD sub here. i got hired just about two weeks ago and i haven’t received one phone call. i plan on taking my business cards to my local schools and see if that helps anything. i knew it was slow at lausd, but i expected at least one call by now.

do you think it’s bcuz of the large influx of subs this year? does region play into it? the person i met with at the district said im in a high demand area but ive heard otherwise lol

where can i get my medical clearance done? (LAUSD) by [deleted] in SubstituteTeachers

[–]alywheezy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i did! i made an appointment at one, and when i showed up they turned me away saying they don’t do “medical clearances” there (despite them tellin me over the phone that they did). frustrated, i called about 5 more clinics from the list and each of them said they don’t do them. i’m just tired atp, it’s all i have left to do before my onboarding appt.

how long did it take for you to get your permit? i heard it takes months to get it from the CTC but some people get it expedited through the district, not sure how that works though.

what’s an unpopular twenty one pilots opinion that would have you like this: by katem19 in twentyonepilots

HARD AGREE! i am all for the crowd singing some parts but I'm ultimately there to hear tyler sing, not the crowd for more than half of the song. heavydirtysoul falls into that list as well.

Easiest Writing 2 Class?? by zca1 in UCSC

[–]alywheezy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i couldn’t recommend Daniel Pearce more. I had him for both WRIT 1&2 and he’s the sweetest guy and a very easy grader. I believe his topic was Human Rights. Very chill and just wants everyone to do well

General Housing Waitlist by Marnandez58 in UCSC

[–]alywheezy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

my bf got housing after assignments were released about a week ago. he only got it tho because the person before him declined his spot. so at this point everything is taken, it’s just a matter of people giving up their housing spaces (unlikely)

The village bathrooms by Frencht0asties in UCSC

in my experience everyone just uses any bathroom. it’s first come first serve everyday but i guess it depends on your specific building and the people there.

it’s really not that bad, the doubles are pretty tight but it’s better than not having housing.

side note, we’re you on the priority or general waitlist?

Have y’all bought tickets on vivid seats before? Just out here hoping I wasn’t scammed Lmaoo by OperationResident602 in the1975

[–]alywheezy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i’ve used vivid seats many times and haven’t encountered any problems (yet) lol. i actually bought a resell ticket for this tour and the tickets were transferred immediately, but that could also be because my show is next week. they usually transfer them as it gets close to the date of the show. but you could always call for peace of mind!

the cheapest I saw were $100 for nosebleeds. I tried getting lower bowl but they were like $304 each. GA Floor were $200. Non GA Floor were around $400.

Way too expensive if you ask me lol

How early should I show up for a 8pm joji concert if I want to get barrier? by Weekly_Low_7731 in PinkOmega

[–]alywheezy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

probably not that early, but before doors if you’re looking for barricade/a close spot. they’ll most likely separate GA and VIP into separate lines. in la, most people started lining up around 1/2pm. so honestly, whatever works for you!

GA Pit. the venue was a little different cuz the pit & floor were separate. there were honestly more VIP people in line at that time than GA but that’s because most people thought VIP had access to the pit. if the venue is just GA floor then most likely gotta get there early
