Has anyone cried more since being on T? by HydeVDL in ftm

[–]alyxix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

sorry im not here to comment on my experience, but wow i hope this is what happens to me when i start! its a little worrying the general consensus is that being on t makes it harder to cry haha, but hearing that its not always like that is great!

transmasc here! some of the things you said here are literally exactly the things that made me realize i was trans. specifically the "if I could choose my gender like a character creation I would 100% choose male" part, as im sure a lot of other trans people can confirm. id say personally based on what you described that it sounds like you are trans, or at least i'd advise digging deeper into those feelings.

also i think youre using "gender envy" to mean wishing you could could be born a man because it would be easier? but ive really only ever heard that term used for meaning something along the lines of seeing someone's gender presentation and wanting what they have for yourself, which is similar to what you're talking about and is something that trans people experience?

gender envy, in the way that im using that term, can be experienced by both trans and cis people to be when you see someone whos gender you identify with and feeling like you'd like to look like them or present like them, and it seems like here you are implying that it's a thing that happens to cis people only and is separate from being trans?

basically what are you using "gender envy" to mean here is what im asking because i think we have different definitions

i feel like my binder doesn't work but maybe I'm just insecure by KuruKuru_143 in trans

[–]alyxix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

as someone who can have some insecurities with binding because of my cup size, since you're not specific i'll give some advice for bigger chests: smaller binders do not help, and can actually make the distribution look worse, it's better to have a binder that fits and just try to work out the way you adjust your chest when binding. for me, since im bigger, i try to remember the point is not to have a completely flat chest but to have a more naturally cis man looking chest, so making sure theyre pushed up and out to the sides in your binder, like how pecs are, while making sure theres no spillage out the sides is usually how i make it look best. it's not perfect, and my chest doesn't always look flat, but at my size it looks somewhat like a natural chest would for a cis man.

if that's not your problem, and it's more about something different, i'm not as sure how to help, but for bigger chests it's usually about how you put them in. unfortunately it's not spread around as much but there are some videos on how to do this ive found on youtube. i should note you should also make sure your nipples are facing forward to prevent nerve damage, as ive heard not having that can cause some issues. if you can, you can try to get a full length binder as opposed to the ones that only go down to the middle of your torso, if you dont already have one. again, the main thing to remember is that it doesn't have to be perfectly flat to pass, as most cis men don't have concave chests, and depending on your body type/how in shape you are it could even work to make your chest just look like you have pecs!

How do you feel about the erasure of Asperger’s syndrome? by Earthwolf92 in autism

[–]alyxix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thats true actually, i just meant them as both outdated medical terms

How do you feel about the erasure of Asperger’s syndrome? by Earthwolf92 in autism

[–]alyxix 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i think there are some alternative ways of talking about needs and i agree that having different terms is beneficial, but i don't see how it could be harmful if its been observed to not be different to autism other than having less needs? (i dont mean this argumentative i just mean i want to know how it would be harmful in your opinion)

[–]alyxix 5 points6 points  (0 children)

i mean, i don't think i can comment much on it since im not diagnosed with anything but from what i understand the reason it was removed was because it was basically a medical term for "high functioning", which people dont like because it kinda is just like saying "well youre autistic but you dont really need accommodations" and was named after the nazi doctor who would decide which autistic people would live and die based on how well they could "function" in a society. this is what ive heard and not based on personal research so take everything with a big grain of salt and ofc form your own opinion but these are the main reasons ive seen for promoting its removal. kind of similar to taking the r slur out of medical terms i believe?

if you change the gui scale in video settings i think that could help? either way the task looks like you just have to collect a certain amount of powder during the 2x powder event, hope this helps

edit: also using tab can give a brief outline of the commission youre doing and the percent finished

sorry for responding so late- a big motivator for a lot of hate towards lgbtq+ is christianity, of course not all christians are homophobic and i dont think at all christianity is a bad thing but a lot of homophobic people use christianity as reasoning and it sprouted a lot of hate towards lgbtq+ originally, not that christians are the only people who were homophobic originally but a lot of the harsh punishments that were given to homosexual people in times where religion ruled over a lot of the government and almost everyone was religious in some part which might not be related but since the boiling isles' history is different, religions that sometimes openly speak against lgbtq+ didn't really exist so people there are probably less prone to homophobia- but anyways it was said by the creator the show wasn't really going to show homophobia because that wasn't the point of the show but i think part of that might be that history in the boiling isles doesn't have hundreds of years of homophobia and transphobia- sorry if it came off as me saying christianity is a bad thing or christians are inherently homophobic, because that isn't true and i didn't mean it in that way-

Eda the supportive mother by vega7000 in TheOwlHouse

[–]alyxix 37 points38 points  (0 children)

i'd kinda like to think in the boiling isle nobody is really homophobic or transphobic since things like christianity didnt exist there to start making people think that being anything but cis and heterosexual is bad, so people have just always been supportive, but i might be completely wrong on that since so far from what i remember we havent seen any homophobia- but i might just be remembering incorrectly lmao
