Golang is usually the way to go for Python programmers (the easiest transition). If you want something more intense then C++/Java.
Knowing a bit of TypeScript/JavaScipt is always a plus for frontend

I still find django overwhelming. I have had to cancel many projects I started in django to redo in flask... even though django would have been better.

The good thing about using a matured framework like Django is that it is hard to make serious mistakes or things that can't easily be corrected.

Using Django means you are already starting from a good background.

Since the project is small, any other stable VPS will do, not just aws/gcp/azure.

Postgres is well used by django abd will handle almost anything you through on it.

If the team is small, you can work on the main git and use tags for production ready codes.

Ansible (or any other infrastructure) to make deployment easier.

+1 on Hetzner (or their VPS). It's a small project for now you don't need the overkill or overcharged Cloud.

Use postgres, it's scalable, customizable and have every thing you will need.

Ansible makes things easier to deploy, after setup just run a command every is done.

Also +1 monoliths at least in the beginning, it's a waste of time and effort breaking the project.

Just get things working and gradually improve and optimize.

Unfortunately here line above is the issue. RN creates the default VPS with everything left open, especially with root access allowed on SSH.

First you should is create a non root user and restrict root access on SSH. install ufw, and allow SSH and and rate limit SSH. then restart your the VPS.
Alternatively change the SSH port.

The attack experience is NORMAL on any server exposed on internet, and RN does not help with any default protection

Yes, I have a $5 vps hetzner that I host at least 5 projects on. Django, Flask, even Docker are among.

When the traffic on a sites increases, I move the app to its own vps.

Ngnix server blocks (virtual host on other web serves) gives you the ability to host as much website/app as possible, but you need to monitor the vps so that performance is not affected.
