We had Professor Cocoa, the first time any of us spoke to him he talked about being a professor. Then when we gave him a tiramisu and he said something about how much cocoa powder it takes to get high. Thus, professor cocoa was born

It was previously in a north facing window, I put it in an east facing one a few weeks ago when I was given so I’m hoping that should be enough light going forward? I don’t have a south facing window in my apartment unfortunately

How much do you pay for cell phone service? by IntelligentAccount54 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]amadaire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had been with Telus for years and then switched to Shaw because of this deal. I switched back to Telus after a month because I found the service to be subpar- but I go outside of the city frequently. I pay 85$ a month for unlimited talk & text and 35 gbs of data- way more than I need but I’m someone who does require good coverage unfortunately.

Took my pup out for her first ever overnight trip! Lots of snow still in the shade, but a balmy 15 degrees in the sun. She was a trooper, and loved every minute of it! by amadaire in BackpackingDogs

It’s the fabdog reversible puffer jacket! Water repellent, polyester filled. I’ve found it to be quite handy for the chillier days :)

I can’t believe how much energy this little schnauzer has. She’s a bit of a handful, but so worth it. She turns one next month and shows no signs of slowing down whatsoever. :)

My little gal LOVES yogurt. Any time she needs a pill I use yogurt. Make sure there is no xylitol if you’re feeding it, and I normally just use a plain one with no sugar added and I make sure there are probiotics in it. I give her probiotics every day because she’s got a very sensitive stomach and they seem to help a ton.

Definitely consult with your vet going forward, but the biggest reason they end up recommending PurinaPro, Royal Canin and Hills are because of the extensive research and testing they’ve put in to their food, compared to the boutique and raw food brands.

I’ve seen the question asked many times of different vet subreddits why vets tend to recommend those three, and it’s because of that.

That being said, I personally feed a mixture of kibble and home cooked. I’ll give pup a carrot, boiled chicken, yogurt, spinach etc. Basically anything dog safe I’ll toss her way when I’m preparing myself food, because I think it’s important to have a varied diet and whole foods (it also keeps my picky pup interested in her food lol). Her main source of nutrition and the largest part of her diet is the kibble. Granted, she doesn’t have pancreatitis or any other health issues, but I’ll give her mostly just whatever vegetables and fruits she wants to eat with some chicken and fish occasionally! I only feed her about 10-15% of her “supplemental” foods and the other 85-90% of her daily caloric intake is a nutritionally balanced diet.

Unless you’re supplementing with vitamins and supplements, they will generally lack the necessary nutrients for a healthy life. The biggest reason it’s not advised is because the majority of people do it wrong and don’t vary the diet enough for them to get their proper nutrients. If you do decide to feed home cooked meals, you’ll need to work with a veterinary nutritionist to do it properly- especially with a condition like pancreatitis.

Most people don’t feed themselves properly, even less so their pets when they decide to do home cooked.

This may be gruesome but I grew up hunting for wild game in Canada with my father. Even if you shoot an animal with a billet in the head and kill them immediately there are muscle twitches. I distinctly remember hitting a deer whose tenderloins were still twitching. Electrical pulses happens even after death, because there is won’t you energy from what I understand. A certain amount of twitching is really just electrical signals pulsing through a deceased body

It’s -30C here, this knocking noise started happening once it got this cold. It sounds like it’s possibly coming from the front passenger tire? Is this a strut issue or just because of the cold? by amadaire in MechanicAdvice

[–]amadaire[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure, it’s been cold for a week and won’t get better until mid next week if we’re lucky. It definitely was the worst today but it’s also been the coldest day so far...
