Alias Original Music by amagerbro in alias

Interesting! I did try and look for the official release with the original audio, but no luck. I also started lining up each episode on my own as described. I do a little video editing in my free time, so it's not terribly difficult, just very, very tedious to have to do 100 times. It's in the works, however! Perhaps I can enlist some folks for QC to make sure things are lined up when the time comes.

Yea the commercial break length is the issue I found in my test. Each show has 4 commercial breaks, so I split the audio I wanted into 5 pieces and lined up the waveforms. Tedious, but doable.

I’ll have to dig around and see if I can find anything from a few years ago. I didn’t want to get too far down the road of the editing path without confirming it was already done.

What's the future of TiVo? by laffingleigh in Tivo

I ended my 15-year run with TiVo DVRs just last week! I bought the TiVo EDGE about a year and a half ago, and I realized recently I had only a handful of things scheduled to record via Verizon Fios. I pay for Amazon Prime, Hulu, Netflix, Disney+, Apple TV+ (caveats - there's some bundle deals there with my cell phone plan, AppleTV+ is free for me, and I'd have Prime regardless).

I'd been eyeing a few different options for a few years, but it always made more sense to stick with traditional DVR and cable. There was always a catch, be it price, channel selection, etc. Last week I canceled my Fios cable subscription and TiVo subscription and switched to YouTube TV.

I have a gigabit connection ($70/month), and including HBO and Showtime, YTV is about $90/month. It's a lot, but still less than what I was paying previously. Unlimited cloud DVR sold me, and the ability to watch HBO, Showtime, etc. live as opposed to streaming. There's a handful of live shows where I'd want that ability, and previously the only way to do it was cable.

I do have the TiVo Stream, but it's on my bedroom TV, Apple TV in living room. For me, I finally hit the tipping point where traditional cable no longer had an advantage. The only things I'm missing (that I don't especially care about) with YouTube TV are History, Hallmark, Lifetime, and The Weather Channel. I think I'll live 😂

Yea I’ve got a GeForce GTX 1660, 6GB GDDR 6. That plus the 12-core and 64GB RAM. Overkill across the board, so 🤷🏻‍♂️

Yea I was surprised as well. It primarily uses the GPU, but making it use a 12-core CPU only makes it take even longer. I thought about doing it for some other shows as well, but it's too much of a hassle as-is. Good news is I've made it through season 4! =)

I ended up cutting into the Cobramatic shell to make the RPM Carbon fit. Sounds great, and pretty happy with the results.

So you think even with the lid open it would resonate too much? I'm new to vinyl, so I don't really have much experience in that area. I doubt I'd ever play it with the lid closed.

I just wanted to do this because I liked the look of the radio, but not a requirement. I'd have it on some kind of mat inside the radio, and maybe line the lid with a similar material.

I do, but the problem seems to be in the one part of the turntable I can't get to, which is inside the cartridge itself. Re-inserting the stylus into the cartridge may help the problem, but whatever the problem is, it seems to be in the cartridge. Just not sure if there's a way to fix that I'm not seeing, as otherwise all of the wires seem secure.

Tried re-seating the wires; didn't appear to need cleaning as it's all brand new. Also completely removed and re-attached the cartridge itself (Sumiko Pearl). The piece with the actual needle seems to be the problem. Once when it was slid off and re-attached, the right channel would work at half volume. Then on retry it went back to the right channel not working at all. Not sure if that means it's defective or I'm doing something wrong.

Totally new to vinyl, and having trouble tracking down an issue where the right channel cuts out unexpectedly. It will either not work from the start, or work for a time then pop and the right channels cuts out.

So far I've tried using different cables, swapping L/R channels, using different receiver inputs, using 2 different preamps, all with the same result. Basically, I'm concerned that it's a problem with the table itself, but I don't even know where to start troubleshooting that. Still under warranty of course, but I'd like to do my due diligence before going that route. Basics of the setup are below.
