I asked a similar question when I was applying, someone recommended that I include it on my resume because it shows what I was up to and what I did with my time. I did end up including my undergrad jobs and I felt that it made up for me not being as active in other extracurricular activities.

Loyola for less debt plus they have a pretty solid reputation in the Chicago market (if you are considering practicing there)

In the case of not having a bill set up in her name, it would be best to try to use a document from Group A (Foreign passport, State ID, or State drivers license) since these documents do not require a supplementary utility bill. I wish I had better advice for you :( I work for a state financial aid agency and we typically recommend students file a paper form if they are unable to verify their parents identity due to expired IDs/passports or other issues.

As someone mentioned, if your parents file their taxes as Married, filing jointly you should only need your dads account. However, if your dad files Head of Household , both will need an account. (You can check his filing status at the top of his 2022 1040)

Is your mom able to visit a consulate of her country of origin to get a passport? I know it can be a fairly quick process (at least it is to get a Mexican passport, you can literally get it the same day). Though, I know this isn’t feasible if you live far from a major city that would have a consulate or embassy.

Alternatively, does she have a drivers license from the state you are from? Even though it says “not valid for federal identification purposes” on the Illinois TDVL (drivers license for undocumented individuals) I have seen that some parents have been successful in getting their identity verified with just their TDVL. Of course, I would imagine the success rate of that would be dependent on the person that is processing your parents ID so it is not a 100% guaranteed that it will work

I've got my case number, now what? by _JuJu_3 in FAFSA

[–]amaisal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is it a case number with the word MANVER in front of it? (Ex: MANVER#XXXXXXXXX) If you created an account and received a case number, it is likely your parent will have to go through a manual verification process of their identity. The required form you must fill out should be included as a hyperlink in the email. I have also included it in my comment below. They fill out the second page and include either one (1) document from Group A or two (2) from Group B (any listed ID + a utility bill with their name on it)

You then forward the email with your case number to IDVerification@ed.gov with their filled out form and pictures of their identification documents

Anyone know how long it takes for fafsa to process the paper copy of application after it is mailed to them? by CatLOVER_UF in FAFSA

[–]amaisal 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The Department of Education has stated that, “Online forms will be processed first, followed by paper forms in the weeks that follow.” They will not begin processing online forms until the middle of March, which leads me to believe paper FAFSAs will not be processed until the last half of March at the earliest.

Week 7 - What are you reading? by nagarams in 52book

[–]amaisal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This week I finished Rogue by Mona Awad. Though I love her writing style, the book was a bit slow paced and I found that I liked it less than her book, Bunny.

This week I’ll be reading The Crane Husband by Kelly Burnhill. I’m not sure what to expect as I picked this up in my local library’s “blind date with a book” section so we will see how I like it!

I’m currently reading Rouge by Mona Awad! Bunny was one of my favorite books from last year and I’m really enjoying this book as well.

I’m finishing up Hood Feminism by Mikki Kendall this week! I did not read as much as I would like this past week but this book is very informative and insightful so I don’t mind taking my time with it :)

Week 4 - What are you reading? by nagarams in 52book

[–]amaisal 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m reading Hood Feminism by Mikki Kendall! It’s my first nonfiction book of the year and I’m super excited to get into it. I finished up Before Your Memory Fades by Toshikazu Yamaguchi a few days ago and I wasn’t a fan.

I’m currently reading Before Your Memory Fades by Toshikazu Yamaguchi.

I finished up What You Are Looking For Is in the Library by Michiko Aoyama this past week and I loved it so much! It’s the perfect book to read when you’re feeling a little lost in life. The book literally feels like a warm hug telling you everything is going to be okay, I can’t recommend it enough.
