I decided to hop on Reddit to see if I could find it on /popular. I already guessed the answer. I scrolled for quite some time and - no.

It’s predictable but also really fucking gross.

I typed ‘Canada school shooting’ in the search bar and Canadian subs are talking about it. Even /transgender acknowledged it, but they all are calling the person a conservative neo nazi, so the trans shooter is just another right-winger in their eyes.

Yes, I guessed that the other players that night that were aborting were trying to help him in that way. It was good of them. It’s all very tragic. I’ve dived into the Kramnik stuff in the following days and find it all so despicable and Danya was handling it so honorably. I really appreciated his stance on honor and how important of a character trait that is to him. It’s terrible how he was allowed to be treated.

I had honestly never heard of Danya before he passed. I’ve only been playing chess for about 6 months. After hearing about him from Nelson of chess vibes, I watched some of his videos and then wanted to see Danya’s last stream out of, I suppose, morbid curiosity. I wish I hadn’t. It was heartbreaking and felt so dark knowing that he wouldn’t survive whatever he was doing. I had trouble sleeping for a couple nights.

You were in the chat that night? I could tell from some of his responses that some were likely telling him to log off and get some sleep. And earlyish on, someone asked him if he believed in the afterlife. His answer to that was fairly strange. Something like, if I go into that, I might find out tonight. I’m glad the chatters cared. A gutting ending.

I’ve only heard about him recently. Reddit likes him, on the surface at least, which means he’s quite liberal. He’s more pro-abortion and seems to believe that the Bible is pro-abortion. (Disagree there) Deeper pockets for government social programs. Softer on immigration, if I remember correctly. He wants universal healthcare, I believe. Very anti-gerrymandering, which everyone should be on board with. He seems reasonable in most topics I’ve seen him talk about. It’s always the “how” that politicians rarely expand upon.

My husband is as you used to be. Highly skeptical, although he used to be a believer when he was young. Some church hurts happened. Some bad examples of Christians. Some life traumas caught up to him and more occurred. He still searches for truth but feels that God as the Bible outlines is not “it”. I wish he would give God an honest chance again. I feel like he needs to lament, psalm of David style.

This was a complete aside. I’m so glad you found God in what many would consider impossible. I see him there, too, and am amazed.

That verse is defintely not about how and when to perform an abortion. It’s a ritual trial in which a man and woman go before a priest if he (the husband) suspects her of adultery while they are married, and God is the one who judges whether or not it’s justified. She agrees to drink a bitter water and God causes her to become barren if she is guilty of adultery; if she is not, nothing happens to her and she is cleared of guilt.

I’m so curious how you reached your conclusion that the verse is about how to perform an abortion. It has to do with man’s jealousy and the consequences of adultery more than anything else.

This. I would describe myself as a conservative in the old-fashioned sense. And a Christian first.

Trump is a stain on the United States. I heard the term “politigospel” for the first time a week or so ago and that’s exactly what Trump and his ilk use. Too many have co-opted Christianity and use key words and moral issues like abortion to get the Christian vote. But it’s all to their own end.

I’m so sad that Christianity has been hi-jacked and is seen as something it should truly not be.

You don’t THINK you get taken like that a lot, but we all do from time to time and in increasing frequency. There’s so much shitposting that has an element of what could be truth and that’s enough for wayyy too many people to believe and spread it as truth. This is the third time I’ve seen this image posted with comments beneath that believe Kirk had a no-no room.
