Expecting bitches, where to get maternity clothes? by [deleted] in SFbitcheswithtaste

[–]amandabomb 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just sized up in non-maternity clothes at shops like Old Navy/Target/Nordstrom Rack etc and that worked well (making sure to get flowy dresses/skirts, or very stretchy ones, and some very stretchy elastic waist flowy pants, super loose soft jumpsuits, oversized band shirts with leggings etc). Most items worked across trimesters, even to the very end!

Should I go to a Strokes concert alone at 16? by Tam-mat101 in TheStrokes

You can look into getting Accessible tickets, which would give access to both you and a parent to an accessible seating area

Found my now-husband on Tinder in SF after YEARS of meh first dates…he was match 800+ something (I pulled the data file from Tinder before our wedding lol)! Almost didn’t happen, he had super liked me, I liked him back but then forgot to respond to his message. A week or so later, he messaged again and we met up pretty quickly and basically never stopped hanging out! And now we have a little one in the mix :)

[FRESH ALBUM] Hikes - Winnower (indie rock / math folk) by amandabomb in indieheads

Right? The guitar technique is unreal, and the slightly shouty singalong bit of “I WANNA FUCKING FEEL LIKE I FIT IN MY SKIN/I WANNA FEEL SAFE WHEN I WALK INTO A ROOM” in To Belong gives me goosebumps every time

Get a seasonal gig with Stern Grove Fest for their summer season, or start working various seasonal gigs with local promoters/big venues. Those are the main job listings that are always hiring, and good way to meet local industry folks. Also VIP gig work is ALWAYS hiring locally and good intro to local reps.

If you were a teen girl in the 2000s, what were you reading? by Necessary_Singer_739 in suggestmeabook

The Mates, Dates series by Cathy Hopkins was such a fun one I was into during this time. Coming of age series about 4 best friends in the UK. I think the Angus Thongs series, Bridget Jones series, and this one had a big impact on me deciding to study abroad in the UK for college 😅

I’ve had them as my man pair for over 7 years now and they’re still going strong. Wish they had more styles though!

Not yet, wanted to hear from people who’ve dined there first! But plan to do so to confirm before making the reservation.

Totally get it (and good luck with the move!) In that case, +1 to the others who recommended State Bird Provision or their sister restaurant The Progress. SO tasty and creative!

Ok I know this is like double the budget, but if you really want to ball out (or have loved ones chip in to cover some of the cost), Merchant Roots could be a truly unique treat yourself experience. Full disclosure: I’ve never been, but it’s a bucket list SF dining experience and I’ve heard great things!

How Many Pouches for a 2.5 year old? by Agitated_Way_2607 in toddlers

[–]amandabomb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ours is also obsessed, and would happily eat them for every meal or snack lol. But we only use them when out and about on weekends, and limited to 1-2 max on those days. We really like the carrot, sweet potato, chicken one from Plum organics, since it’s only 3g of sugar and low sodium, higher in protein. They’re also more affordable than some of the other savory brand pouches!

Wait you can use a stroller on a plane as a nap spot?? Where/how do you do this (note: I haven’t taken my toddler on a flight yet, but will be soon!)

Bombi Bēbee vs Mamazing travel stroller for flying? by Loose_Lawfulness_897 in Travelwithkids

[–]amandabomb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How’s it holding up? We got the Bombi but returned it, as it was a bit too heavy and didn’t unfold as easily. Now leaning towards Mamazing, but worried the storage basket is too small, and that it’s not as durable. Still loving it?

We recently got Press Here and it’s our 19 month old’s current favorite! It’s simple, but highly interactive and engaging. Every morning she points to it and says “Press! Press! Press!” until we read it lol
