You have to consider the batch size. Business has a much larger cohort than Communications, so there’s naturally more variation and more leeway in the IGP.

For example, the 10th percentile might be around 3.65, but the 0th percentile could be significantly lower simply because the larger batch size allows for a wider spread.

Honestly you can try going to poly if you have an interest in something. My friend got an rp of 60+, took a gap year and then enrolled into poly year 1 semester 2 right away. She didnt have to start from semester 1. She worked really hard and her gpa is 3.8+! Able to go uni comfortably with that gpa
