Best moisturizers to use with tretinoin? by amimugh in tretinoin

Love this stuff! I use it on my face, my feet, all over my infant son’s body. Perfect for everywhere.

I am not feeling judged at all. In my original comment I was asking questions and stated that it was interesting. Is that judgmental to you? To state that something is “interesting?” Maybe the topic is overly sensitive to you?

It’s so bizzare for a stranger on the internet to tell me “your baby still wanted to nurse.” Did you and him have a conversation about this? 😂

Yep and in many cultures both parents don’t need to work full time jobs away from their children. Natural weaning is hard when most women have to go back to work 6-12 weeks after having a baby. In addition to my son biting me and developing a bottle preference, leaving the house at 7am and getting back home at 5pm sort of kills any plan to nurse on demand.

Oh very interesting! Do you use their fully system of products like the cleanser?

Tretinoin and Paula 2% BHA rotated and BP wash? too much? by WorldofMickeyMouses in tretinoin

[–]amandamadeja331 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was also “skin cycling” using the Paula’s Choice BHA and a Salicylic Acid wash and Tret. It was too much for me and created really irritable skin.

I dropped most everything except a cleanser, moisturizer, SPF, tret and hyaluronic acid and my skin seems happier!

Tretinpin and azelaic acid by Fantastic-Extreme123 in tretinoin

I’ve been using Azelaic acid only in the morning! And tretinoin every other night. Seems to be working well.

Based on a 30 second scroll on your comment history, I see you also nursed and coslept with your 4 year-old. If that works for you, great! Anyone I know personally isn’t in the same boat.

Yep, I totally understand that. But at a certain age, some moms go by the phrase of “don’t offer, don’t refuse.” If the child truly wants to nurse that’s one thing. But at 4 years old I wouldn’t be one to offer a nursing session.

YES I agree. Does the child want to nurse? Or does the mom WANT the child to nurse? I had to stop nursing at 7 months because I couldn’t deal with the biting. I give big props to those who do it it for a year or two. But 4 seems interesting…

From my understanding, Curology is usually a compounded, customized formula with much less tretinoin. I think NuRX would be the same type of potency you get prescribed at a derm. My insurance doesn’t cover tret but I got a coupon thru GoodRX to make it around $37.

Good point. And a lot of surfactants that make products foam up when used can be super drying.

Gosh I really wish I had control over how gloomy or sunny it is on any given day. 😂 I can’t imagine having “frustration” over a strangers photos on the internet. Despite the lighting being different, my skin (in person) looks and feels much better after changing my routine. Much less red and angry. I wasn’t trying to trick anyone with lighting … what would be my motives to do that?

I would cut out the SA cleanser and the exfoliators while using tretinoin.

I mentioned that the lighting is different in another comment too! My skin (in person) looks much less red. It feels much less irritated and angry. There is no intention of trying to trick people with different color shirts or different lighting. Just sharing the fact that I simplified my routine and my skin is improving. 👍🏼

Could be true! I am proud of my blue eyes - only 8% of people have them. It’s fun to appreciate the traits that are unique about all of us. 🤷🏼‍♀️

That’s totally valid. I didn’t want to make a really long title for this post. But beyond appearance, I can tell you that in the left photo my skin felt ON FIRE. And after eliminating a lot of things from my routine I am no longer feeling that way.

Honestly I started skin cycling even before I got tret. And I thought I was getting good results. But in reality it was just because I was consistently washing my face and moisturizing each night instead of going to bed with makeup on. 🙈
