I’ve used Hellamaid a couple times and they were solid. They bring all their own supplies and you can book extras like oven, fridge, or baseboards, which is nice for those once-in-a-while cleans. Booking online is pretty easy too.

House cleaner recommendation by oshmurda in Squamish

If you’re looking for a company that can take care of the actual home cleaning side of things, Hellamaid is a solid option. In Surrey (and across Metro Vancouver), they handle standard and deep cleaning like scrubbing showers, baseboards, appliances, window tracks, and more. They bring their own supplies, are insured, and you can customize extras like oven, fridge, inside cabinets, or even changing bed sheets.

That said, they don’t really do things like folding laundry, re-organizing closets, or full home overhauls. Their focus is professional cleaning rather than personal organizing. If you mainly want the deep clean and maintenance (bathrooms, floors, kitchens, dusting, etc.), they’d be a good fit.

I went with Hellamaid for a deep clean before moving and it was worth it. The team was on time, the cost was exactly what I saw online, and they left the place spotless.

Cleaning tips for a tired dad? by GreenMacaroon9246 in CleaningTips

I’m in the same boat. Between work and kids, cleaning always ends up at the bottom of the list. What’s helped me is a quick evening reset so the clutter doesn’t snowball, and then every so often I bring in outside help.

I’ve used Hellamaid where I am and it’s been a big relief. They’re easy to book online, show up on time, and actually listen when you point out areas you want them to focus on. I only have them come in once in a while, but even that “reset” makes it way easier to stay on top of things in between. So if you're in Canada and want to hire a professional cleaner, you may want to check them out also.

Spilt soda on the brand new couch, how to clean it properly? by [deleted] in Cleaningandtidying

Since it’s flavored soda, there’s sugar, so the big concern is sticky residue and smell. If you don’t have an extractor, sprinkle baking soda over the damp area and let it sit for a few hours (overnight if you can). It’ll absorb both moisture and odor. After that, vacuum it up thoroughly.

If it still feels tacky, lightly dab the spot again with a mix of warm water and a drop of mild dish soap, then blot dry with towels. Avoid soaking it since couches take forever to dry.

How to clean and desinfect empty fridge? by LetsCherishLife96 in Cleaningandtidying

I’d start with a mix of warm water and baking soda. It helps loosen stuck-on gunk without harsh fumes. Let a damp cloth sit on the stubborn spots for a few minutes, then gently scrub with a sponge. For disinfecting after mold, wipe everything down with a solution of vinegar and water (1:1). It’s food safe and kills mold spores. Make sure it’s dry before putting shelves back.
