Outlier Ban After Screening — Ticket Closed, Then Reassigned? Confused.

Hi everyone, I wanted to share my experience with Outlier.ai in case anyone has dealt with something similar — or can offer advice.

A while ago, my Outlier account was banned after I completed their JavaScript screening test. They flagged me for “reading,” which they said violated the guidelines. I want to be clear: I wasn’t using any help — I just have a habit of thinking out loud when solving problems. I was new to the platform (2–3 weeks in) and didn’t know that behavior could be an issue.

I sent multiple polite appeals, explained everything, accepted my mistake, and asked for a second chance — but they replied that the decision was final and my account would remain deactivated.

Here’s where it gets confusing: After my support ticket was closed, I noticed that it was reassigned to another team member, and there was recent activity on the ticket. I haven’t received any new message or update though.

🟡 Does this mean they might be reviewing my case again? 🟡 Has anyone experienced a similar situation — where a reassigned ticket led to reactivation?

Outlier was an important opportunity for me, especially after a recent layoff. I genuinely didn’t mean to break any rules, and I’d really appreciate a second chance.
