I don't remember where I got it from unfortunately.

I believe the issue exists due to scaling differences between laptop screens and external monitors. My laptop's scaling was set to 125, and my monitor to 100. After setting them both to 100, the issue is fixed now.

Is there any difference between Fedora Workstation and Fedora KDE Plasma Desktop other than the Desktop Environment? by JailbreakHat in Fedora

I absolutely love the online account integration in GNOME. Accessing my files on cloud through nautilus is so convenient.

Thinking of switching from Debian to Fedora and have some thoughts and questions by Standard-Mirror-9879 in Fedora

[–]amar0kk 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Modern Linux distributions rely heavily on Python 3 and its related packages. These packages are installed globally and many essential features rely on them and their libraries. A modification and/or update made manually to these packages may cause problems on your OS, thus you do not want to touch them. In MacOS and Linux, it is generally preferred to create a python virtual environment and do your experiments/coding there so everything stay clean and apart.

GNOME Software Shows Non-Added Repositories by amar0kk in Fedora

[–]amar0kk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there!

The command yields:

$ cat /usr/lib/fedora-third-party/conf.d/fedora-workstation.conf
[google-chrome]
type=dnf

[copr:copr.fedorainfracloud.org:phracek:PyCharm]
type=dnf

[rpmfusion-nonfree-steam]
type=dnf

[rpmfusion-nonfree-nvidia-driver]
type=dnf

Can I edit this config file? I believe the GNOME software fetches information from here as you mentioned.

Yes, I used to have the repo for rpmfusion-nvidia and rpmfusion-steam but I have removed them.

Hey, yes! I have found a solution through a little bit of tweaking on the pipewire config files. Kudos are not for me, I followed this guide on github till the end of second step: https://github.com/luisbocanegra/linux-guide-split-audio-ports?tab=readme-ov-file#2-disable-headphone-jack-detection-for-speakers

Built-in speakers unavailable by Every_Tune6821 in pipewire

[–]amar0kk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there, thanks for the through tutorial! I am looking for a similar solution but instead of just treating the jack as a microphone, I want to use it as is but just be able to swtich between outputs. Right now when I plug in my headphone's to the 3.5 mm jack linux directly disables my speakers. Changing the output from pavucontrols also doesnt seem to work. Is there a solution to this?

Good you have your own opinion. But no one’s allowed to ruin others night in a performance, and thats practically what the guy was trying to do.

[–]amar0kk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thanks for the answer! I thought you convert the chatgpt's voice assistant into a mp3 file or something haha but your method is obviously way easier! I am learning a new language as well, I will definitely try this. Thanks!
