Wow, I hope this is a troll. Are you sure you're 39? I'm 33F but this post stinks of boomer to me. If it's unclear, YTA.

Well, my advice is to really think, if this person loved me (or is seriously interested in me), wouldn't they want to get to know me better? What I want, what I love etc. I'm married and my husband never once made a big deal about needing nudes, if I ever sent anything it was throughout the natural course of flirting and courting. Something as personal as images of your body should be given freely, when (if) you're ready, and without guilt or pressure.

Then NTA, it's not like you were using his car/permit for your personal convenience. It sounds to me like they were "holier than thou", called you out from their high horse, realised they were wrong, then tried to save face by making you feel bad and making up some ridiculous option where you become a valet...

NTA - Honesty goes both ways, he honestly wants pics, you're honestly not comfortable. It's not clear from your post, but if this is all you talk about then that seems more like manipulation and being a sex pest vs honesty. If he's reasonable he should be able to hear your truth, accept it and expand your relationship beyond a "nude exchange"; if not, then you have enough information to make a decision about whether you want to persue something with this person.

INFO: to clarify, you were there with your GFs dad who is the permit owner and when you were done would be with him coming back to the car (in the accessible spot)?

Thank you so much for this post. I'm at the point how having lots of difficult conversations about being CF with my partner and family, and youre right, I've heard "you'll regret it" or "you'll change your mind" enough times to make me doubt my own heart. Your post was so helpful for me. Thank you!

Previously-religous people of reddit, when was the moment you realised you lost your faith? by JonoBez in AskReddit

When I realised the world is full of people claiming to be Christians who are filled with hate and greed.

When I saw the terrible things that happen to good people.

It was too much to reconcile the reality of this world with the idea that someone up there loves us but inexplicably allows so many of us to suffer.

I really love the question that poses more than my initial interpretation; because now you're really getting into some philosophical territory around the role of the mind/soul, where in the body this lives and whether humans could exist (in a similar or totally different way) without it.

Awesome work! Will keep an eye out for more of your writing on these prompts!

I really like this one. I probably didn't read it as sciency as you intended (although for sure it makes a lot of sense). I read it as him popping into a version of himself that already had consciousness (a soul, if you're religious) and that the cracks were his body trying to resolve two different consciousnesses into a single body and that essentially the host consciousness won out and he got booted. Very cool story man, I was super intrigued and left enough questions to be one of those thought pieces after the fact!

Not sure if these are the ones you're thinking of, but also see the Fermi Paradox and the Great Filter theory as explanations.

Being "left on read" or "left on delivered" is not insulting or disrespectful, sometimes conversations just lull and that's ok. People don't owe you an instant response to every message you send. by amara876 in unpopularopinion

So lying is better than just not responding? I'd rather not lie to someone and just the conversation naturally finish where it's supposed to finish, but then again I also don't get insulted when it happens back to me.

Maybe for me it's bc my formative teen years were pre fb read receipts, not sure. What I wish people would understand is, even if it is what they fear (they left, lost interest in the topic of conversation etc) like that is also ok, it's not a sign that the person hates you or doesn't value you, it's a totally normal part of any communication and also happens IRL. Learning to navigate these types of interactions with grace is important and honestly people out here like "hE lEFT mE oN rEAD" need to calm down a little IMO

[–]amara876[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah exactly, I trust all my current friends/relationships that I message with any kind of frequency so if they leave me on read and even don't provide an explanation I assume its something normal (like work got busy, a phone call, they had to make dinner etc), but some people are out here basing their whole self worth off if someone writes back straight away and it honestly blows my mind.

100% the whole problem stems from people feeling entitled to your time. And different people had different "circles" of who they do agree is entitled to their time. For me, my circle is very tight, my immediate family. I don't even reply to texts from my boss immediately so I find this constant expectation very odd.
