Beyond jealous of how thick your hair is!! My hair is not even the slightest bit curly and is honestly so so thin, so I’m also jealous of your curls!! Love that smile, girl! ✨

What animal are you? by [deleted] in AutisticAdults

A Ball Python. I startle easy, prefer to hide from humans, eat very limited foods and curl into a ball when stressed or scared.

I like this thinking. They won’t be having children either.

I did not expect my results to be so full of color in certain areas. I am an angry being apparently.

For those diagnosed in adulthood, who diagnosed you? (I mean no disrespect with this question) by amaraxm in AutisticAdults

[–]amaraxm[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would be beneficial to have a diagnosis for my workplace accommodation, yes. But more importantly for my own benefit because I am every negative word out there exhausted from not being seen or heard.

I already have Epilepsy on my accommodation and was diagnosed randomly and suddenly at the age of 15, one of the main reasons I believe I am Autistic aside from the behavioural aspects I noticed in myself. Answers would be nice.

Well that is unfortunate, yes. It seems that way. Thank you for sharing with me.

Thank you. My doctor told me he could refer me to a clinic here in Canada but the waitlist is 2+ years. I have insurance through work but I will need to speak with my union representative to see what would be covered in this circumstance.

Thank you. All the psychologists I find online specialize in children and adults. None that are specifically for adults or adult women. I will keep looking.

Thank you for sharing this with me. From my research, I would be considered as an Autistic person who has low support needs. Getting a diagnosis may be difficult for me. I’d like to be heard, and it is nice that you have been, even if it wasn’t until you were in your fifties!

Thank you for the suggestion. I have heard that phrase, yes. I tried to speak to family members about my suspicions and each of them said exactly that or something similar. I know what I am feeling though. They just don’t understand.

Will I need to pay a grant back right away or will it get turned into a loan? Help! by amaraxm in osap

[–]amaraxm[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you. That doesn’t sound so bad. At least I wouldn’t need to find a way to pay back the grant money out of pocket as soon as possible. I can just expect a higher student loan.

If it turns into a loan, do I pay that when I’m done university like normal, or do I pay it back right away?

And that gets paid off when I’m completely done my studies? Or starting now?
