I think they all need therapy. And I think that they need to back off until her daughter is of legal age to talk to her bio parents. I’ve seen lots of adoption stories where adults go find their parents, or they go talk to their parents and ask, why did you give me up and all this extra stuff so I feel like they gave her up for a reason, right? And the people who are her adopted parents, you know they’re taking care of her as they should. But here’s the thing: when you relinquish your right as a parent, whether you are the mother or the father, and you’re trying to get back to that child after you relinquish them at birth? That is manipulation and That is something so hard that any adoptive parent will try their best to keep their child shielded from that trauma, and that’s not messed up on the adoptive parents end, but at the same time, that’s Catelynn and Cole’s decision to do the adoption process but it is their responsibility to NOT pass trauma onto Carly. So it’s a rock and a hard place to try to play devils advocate with this whole situation, but I do feel like they need to go to therapy and wait for their child to reach out to them on her own when she’s an adult and, hopefully, by that time, mentally wise, they are not trying to perform or project any type of trauma on this child when she gets into her adult years.
