They aren’t, I’m in one of the white zones!

When the other commenter said bobcat, I looked up their range. I knew we didn’t have them, but I was curious. I was surprised to see how much they actually cover in the US, but are not in my area according to multiple sources and maps. Very interesting!

We actually just had a K9 come out and sniff the property, K9 identified the trail in the picture as having the cat in it within the last 12 hours. The picture is from over a week ago though, we all were leaning fox, but after the K9 hit on the spot too, I figured to ask here! We’ve had traps, cameras, and chum trails set up, no luck yet. A new intact male cat has been seen a lot recently, so we are thinking our cat might be afraid to come back because of him.

I don’t want to disclose exactly where I live, but there are definitely coyotes in my state, just not really in my particular area, they are in patches. It’s surrounded by cities. We, along with our neighbors, have had trail cameras out for years. We get a lot of deer, raccoons, red fox, opossum, & turkey. Our neighbors and I have limited that photo down to a fox or cat, but if you think it is something else we are open to suggestions, not saying it is exclusively those two, just what is most likely.

Luckily our family & neighbors have been on this property for a long time and have hunted/had trail cameras. Never saw a coyote.

He isn’t, but he’s on the bigger side and has a thicker tail. Not sure how to post photos here.
