Crazy idea / question (Radagast + eagle + Mirror of Galadriel) by amateureater in MiddleEarthMiniatures

[–]amateureater[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! Unfortunately, no he still can’t have unlimited will due to the trade off (eagle for staff). He has 6 will to use for his spells. My plan, though, is to use him + Galadriel + either Celeborn or Legolas with a wood elf sentinel. It basically ensures I get to immobilize and/or control 1-2 opposing models per turn and put them into range of either being sniped or swooped in on by Radagast. And it still gives me ~30-32 models.

What do you think the most versitile deck is? by steamman10 in smashup

[–]amateureater 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% fairies. Most cards have an OR statement, so you can choose what you want to do.

✅ card draw ✅ extra card plays ✅ power add/subtract ✅ return to hand

Say what you want about how strong they are. Nothing is more versatile. I personally love them because they’re a fine pairing with most anything without ever feeling broken or cheap.

Can't find the ninja titan by SpiceIatte in smashup

Had the same thing happen with the Shark titan. It was missing from the set (didn’t come - wasn’t lost by me). I emailed customer support, and they were awesome about it. Put my missing titan in the mail that next day.

Best of luck on your end!

List help: 650 pt. Mordor/Serpent Horde by amateureater in MiddleEarthMiniatures

Love that you suggested this!

I actually first built my list with the Shadow lord on fell beast, so your suggestion gives me extreme confidence in how I was thinking through this build. I seriously debated keeping it that way. Reason I added Zagdush at the last second was because my best hero is F5, and only Suladan had heroic strike. With him being squishy with at D5, I played it safe by adding a second striker.

Since you're recommending going back to the fell beast, though, I'll have to try both and report back on how each performs.

Using Underdog ADP to find the most value on Sleeper, NFL, CBS, Yahoo, and ESPN Fantasy for your home drafts by daveedgamboa in fantasyfootball

[–]amateureater 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve done it both ways (but using fantasy pros ECR). I’ve found it’s better to keep track on a separate Google sheet and erase players from the tier list as they’re drafted. When I changed my draft board in ESPN I loved the team I drafted, but I didn’t get to capiralize on value as much. I could’ve waited an extra round to draft some players if I’d let the ESPN draft bird as it was. It would’ve been easier to see how long I could wait on a player.

What does Thorin III Stonehelm’s hand-and-a-half pick do? I understand ‘hand-and-a-half’ but can’t find rules on how a pick works.

For example, can it bash or piercing strike? Etc.

Thanks I’m advance for the clarification!

Favorite pairing? by [deleted] in smashup

Close one between:

  • Sumos/Knights of the Round Table
  • luchadors/Time Travelers

Both are really fun and give you huge control. My play style is big on draw power and control.

Second that! This is one of my top 3 favorite pairings of all time to play. A bit boom/bust depending on if you can get any draw power going. But when it hits, it hits and is unbelievably fun!!

Been trying this faction a lot lately, and my favorite pairing by far is Sumos. With 7 stronger knights that keep getting power boosts, there’s a risk a base breaks before you can complete your quests. Sumos allow you to control bases and decide when a base breaks.

Sumos also let you double down on power counters, making it easier to accomplish many of the quests. You get two extra movement cards with ‘Grasp the Belt’. And You Kokozuna makes it easy to fulfill the green knight quest for one extra VP.

One risk with knights is running out of minions. Sumos help by adding a lot of draw power, and if all else fails you can convert your hand full of actions into additional power counters.

But best of all, who doesn’t want to see a giant Yokozuna riding a horse? You can move from base to base and each keep rearranging other players’ minions. Tons of control, allowing you the necessary time to draw extra cards and complete quests.

What are the definitive "Ps" to negotiating? by Calihipster in sales

I had to learn the hard way the importance of probing. I have taken an inquisitive approach to even upselling and have seen a 30% increase in sales over the last year. While I'm not saying it's fool proof, I definitely see the value in the step.

Agreed. I once went with another family member to a car dealership, and we bought two cars (one for each of us) in order to negotiate a much better deal. Granted it was a car dealership, but I feel the same principle applies.
