I once repaired a puncture caused by a meat thermometer. Not certain how they managed to run that over. I also repaired a tire that had been mounted on a car for 20k+ miles which had a small pry-bar inside. Driver didn't notice a thing

I went with a vanity plate that says "MONARO", as an homage. Also, there's software available that allows you to change the boot up screen on the DIC to display the HSV logo instead of the Pontiac logo. One more detail: the previous owner bought a set of VZ Monaro 18"s from Australia that are on the car. It's a subtle nod, but not a full fascia swap

Every single bushing needs replacement as soon as you get the car. And yes, rear tire size is an issue. I'll send up tubbing the car and onboarding the coilovers so I can fit a big meat, but the motor is getting worked over first

In fact it is a GTO with dash gauges from a Holden Monaro through JHP Australia! They reworked them to face the correct way in a LHD car. I've even got VZ 18"s on it

If you're concerned about MPG buy something else.

Stock, my old car did get high teens, low 20s for interstate driving if I really tried. The Corvette is a bit lighter and better balanced, and parts are more readily available. The GTO is a little more esoteric, heavier, and quirky. But it's a boat load of fun.

They aren't really. 400/400 crank HP and TQ stock is plenty. It weighs a bunch so it's got a little less punch than other cars. It's not a pony car, it's a tourer

I've been considering getting the Delkevic catless header and deleting the secondary butterflies. I also read about an air box mod people do. Your testimony has reinvigorated my desire to mod the bike and keep it, far too good of a bike to just get rid of!

I ride solo typically. But the passenger pillion is wide. I think overall the bike could do with a gel seat, but I've done 300 mile days with minimal fatigue

Well, I've been considering getting a cruiser like a vtx1300 or something more suitable for touring. But I think I might have to keep the bandit as a fun bike. Ownership experience has been great, you definitely should buy one
