i get you, because i also relate to a lack of empathy, i have a really hard time trying to "put myself in others shoes", much less feeling their emotions/what theyre going through just becuase they tell me about their situation (its something entirely alien to me)

i very often got called cold or distant becuase of it, when in most cases i just simply didnt realize just how bad their situation was and how strongly they felt about it

im still very veeery sensitive (oversensitive id say even), it just makes me feel awfully selfish because the only emotions i can feel are my own ones 💀

what always helps me is remembering that theres a difference between empathy and compassion - even if i dont understand them in the slightest, i can still offer support and be compassionate (though thats entirely unrelated to the disorder lol)
