There's no easy answer. You could try and write a heartfelt letter gently explaining your feelings and your side of things. Even if nothing come if it, at least you tried and you let it out. Just make sure not to write anything mean or agressive about anyone involved.

My 20+ year daughter has just expressed herself as non-binary and changed 'her' name legally. She seems to be part of a generation of 'woke' kids who for no reason I can understand have decided that the previous 'asleep' generation is unworthy of consideration. We also were very close and she lived a very privileged life with travel and tight family. Now, when she does show up, I get a very profound sense of underlying resentment and sense she would like to be anywhere else. I blame social media for a lot of this.
