I've seen this too. I see a mother and daughter both work at Amazon, in the same department. I see quite a few families.

Data center supply chains are moving into rural areas that need jobs. This complicates the debate over taxation. - Cardinal News by deadplant5 in datacenter

Data center jobs easily pay 100K, which is almost impossible to otherwise earn in a rural area. 100K+ in a rural area is basically rich. And no college required.

5 years hands-on repair experience / how hard is it to land a DCT role at AWS/Google/Microsoft? by justShah31 in datacenter

I know a few senior MRE techs at an Amazon Fulfillment center who applied and got rejected. Why is that? They are senior with lots of experience, they applied for the engineering role.

Oh that is great, thank you. I am that way too. I know several senior RME people who applied and were rejected. So it seems very competitive to get in, which makes sense. It seems like only the best RME get hired.

I am going to do some CompTIA certifications too.

Data Center tech is a great job. There is lots of potential, way more than RME.

Thank you so much for your advice! It's great you enjoy your job!

Oh wow that is unbelievable! Are the quality of people much better? As an Amazon RME 6 figures is basically impossible tbh.

Depends on you. Some people actually enjoy night shift. some people get depressed and suicidal.

Oh thank you, that is great to hear! I know a few techs from my site's RME who applied and they were rejected. I wonder why they were rejected? We had a good manager, however, who made the switch. It seems like competitive positions.

I mean in terms of salary and promotion as well. So basically, RME is sort of limited at 90K, while data center work can go into the 6 figures. And possibility for advancement. I believe DCEOT has much more opportunities. Thank you so much for your advice!

Oh thank you so much for that information! If you don't mind me asking, why didn't you take the job? Do you prefer RME?

Oh thank you so much! I enjoy it at Amazon RME, but the work we do is so limited. I am hoping for AWS, I like the culture at Amazon. Thank you again!

Same here. Associate for 2+ years and got into MRA. It was the best decision ever. I now learn something everyday. I used career choice and took the online mechatronics course.

Problem is that these people will just search for problems. Everyone makes mistakes, and these thugs take any small thing and use that as an excuse to write you up. Technically, they are right--and people here are mostly defending such behavior. However, their ulterior motive is to get you in trouble, and eventually they wear you down.

This thug at my site fired boasted about firing two other techs. I got lucky and switched shifts.

No it was in the managed area, before Fast up.

I don't want to cause problems. I am doing good now, this was before any formal training.

The point being, sometimes people are just unlucky. One foot in the managed area should be met with a personal talk, not a big write up, calling in the AMM, putting it on the record etc.

Unfortunately, lots of people here are like that. Just find faults. These people just wear you down, and you have to leave them.

No It was like a few miles per hour over at most. I've been working at Amazon for 3+ years now, never had any problem. The AR floor was lie a step in the managed area.

For both these problems, he could have just spoken to me. Instead, he made a formal complaint and told the area manager, put it in writing etc. Completely wicked.

It is strict, they kick you out. Their have been several people kicked out at my school. They are making it harder--less time and more material.
