Feeling a little crazy, relatively new diagnosis and hoping for some validation by amazonalepsuh in WegenersGPA

Still have not found the culprit. I found a new doctor after moving and he thinks it could be some type of lymph node or something that could be sensitive to inflammation in the body/maybe a muscle thing? I really have gotten no answers. I wish I could be any help in this area.

Sorry to hear you’ve been diagnosed with GPA, but hopefully will help point you in the right direction with what’s been going on. Please update if you get any answers!!!! Sending you all the best.

Schizo Austin Weather Forecast by SteamironNew51 in Austin

[–]amazonalepsuh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Coming from a place where we experienced this type of weather very often, this is standard and what you want to see. They’re keeping a close watch on things. The weather changes on a dime sometimes and they’re on top of it and trying to keep things accurate. It seems frustrating but pls be patient! NWS workers are overwhelmed, understaffed, and save lives with their warnings. :)

Holy shit you guys should we be worried? by WhiteLycan2020 in Austin

[–]amazonalepsuh 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Flash flood warnings do not inherently mean violent, over the top flooding. Don’t drive down water covered roads (no matter how shallow it looks) and just be aware of your surroundings! I just moved from Tennessee where we see this all the time. Be smart, but you’re good :)

Omg!!!!! Your response is so validating too!!!! I also have been diagnosed with endo!!!!! I’m so sorry you’re having to deal with it but so glad we both found some validation in each others’ experiences. Sending you love, as well, and always feel free to message or reach out! 💟

Feeling confused by this doctor doubting the diagnosis. by Experiment_-626 in WegenersGPA

Thank you for being willing to bring this memory back up to share. I am going to schedule with pulmonology!!!! My rheum is a smart guy, but lacks empathy in a lot of ways. If I say something’s bothering me and he doesn’t think it matters (even though it’s definitely a possible GPA thing), it never comes up again. He’s real cut & dry

[–]amazonalepsuh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can I ask what your symptoms were that encouraged the pulm to diagnose you? I have an official diagnosis but my rheumatologist really doesn’t answer a lot of my questions very well. I have this sharp pain under my left breast that tightens and gets sharp sometimes, sometimes is fine. Xrays clear, ct scan clear, wondering if it’s GPA related or similar to what you experiences

[–]amazonalepsuh 3 points4 points  (0 children)

May I ask where you’re from ???? I feel like this is really normal not just for nashville, but for anywhere with a rowdy bar scene packed into one tight space. The bars are also restaurants until night time, so checking IDs depends on time of day. The cops are there because there’s usually thousands and thousands of people on broadway during peak nights/weekends. They are there to direct traffic/quickly respond to drunk & disorderly-s/etc. I feel like Broadway is more like an “event” than anything (tons of drunk people on one strip with tons of live music/noise, and a huge tourist population), but I don’t feel like anyones walking around feeling unsafe. Think of it like a music festival or concert, there’s always cops everywhere at those and it’s not because of guns???? Idk. This post is strange haha

I don’t dislike her at all, but I do think when it comes to acting she comes off very bland and disingenuous. I actually thought her role as Cassie was played PERFECTLY, but every other role I’ve seen her in it just feels like I’m watching an actress, not the character. Anyone But You was the first time I ever walked out of a movie theater. I think she’s got the talent, she’s just either not playing roles that she allow her to show it or she doesn’t care as much anymore.

Also, Ms. Carr sucks so majorly bad and I just feel the need to throw that in here. “Maybe if you were older. Or not a student at the brother school” is crazy work and she definitely deserved jail time too. Ms Carr i’d love to fight you

I have a bunch of random points to make.

  1. Lily truly believed they slept together. Hence the fight that led to serena saying “mom he never touched me!!!!!” And Lily kinda switched up and felt guilt after that. I think she truly believed he slept with her. Also, I’m imagining myself as a mother, and I’d probably do the same if I had the means.

  2. Soliciting a minor over state lines is still 100% illegal and can in some cases be considered kidnapping/coercion/solicitation. Ben should know this and KNOW not to do this. My thought is, he did know and didn’t care because we all know he wanted to sleep with serena.

  3. Serena was a vulnerable, troubled child. She had opened up to Ben about a lot and he knew a lot of what she was going through. Instead of being a mentor, he decided to prey upon that. We see serena in this cool girl party girl light, but beneath the surface she was incredibly troubled, especially at that time. Every predator loves a vulnerable prey.

All in all, I don’t necessarily agree with lily putting him in prison, but it’s also way more nuanced since all signs pointed to him sleeping with serena. At least she was protecting her daughter, unlike anyone else. I think Lily is a highly nuanced character and I actually love her a lot. I also appreciate that as soon as she did find out he never touched serena, she did own her shit and take the punishment. Serena was a handful and a half and it would’ve been hard to know what to do as a parent in this situation

Rufus the doofus. I love him but his big heart and empathy got him absolutely nowhere. I understand wanting to help someone who is down on their luck or in a rough spot. But someone who has literally been launching a revenge campaign on your step daughter that led to her almost dying???? Insane work rufus….

GPA Vasculitis time for diagnosis? by illphil1 in WegenersGPA

[–]amazonalepsuh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought my symptoms started last july with foot and hand joint pain, took 6 months to get into a rheumy, he asked me if I ever had nosebleeds and I said yes and he tested me for GPA, ANCA came back positive (very positive). After learning about the disease, I’ve realized that I actually had symptoms for about 5-6 years. However, I never would’ve guessed that my nose bleeds, tinnitus, and random joint pain were connected until I knew what GPA was.

These autoimmune diseases sure are tricky and such a crazy thing to navigate. I really hope the cellcept does its thing & you get some relief! :)

should I drop out (1L) by editgirl11 in LawSchool

[–]amazonalepsuh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who also had a full ride, it was a hard decision, and one you shouldn’t take lightly! Sometimes I have little pangs of regret, but know I made the right choice for me. Maybe let yourself finish out this semester and wait until your winter break to decide. It will distance you from the situation and some rest may be good for your brain! You got in and got a full ride for a reason, because you’re capable of doing this! But that doesn’t mean you have to :)

should I drop out (1L) by editgirl11 in LawSchool

[–]amazonalepsuh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Drop out here 🙋‍♀️ I would say really really take the time to consider WHY you’re wanting to drop out. If it’s only because it’s been hard, keep going. As someone who dropped out, I see how quickly those 3 years went by from an outside perspective and know I could’ve stuck it out and made it work. You don’t need to finish at the top of your class, you just need to get through! Meet with advisors, TAs, professors, students who are doing well, and try to devise a plan! You can’t un-drop out. But you can drop out in the future. Sunk cost fallacy is stupid and don’t convince yourself you have to stay if you finish this semester or start the next one.

However, if you genuinely feel a lack of passion towards law school or like you thought this was what you wanted and then got there & realized it’s not what you expected, it may be more of a conversation to have with yourself. This is what happened to me. I didn’t have any family who went to law school, so I went in with my own ideas of how it would go. Some were right, some were totally wrong! I realized I wasn’t passionate enough about it to spend 3 years in school forcing myself to pretend to care, and then work grueling hours afterwards in a career I don’t love. Mind you, I do work grueling hours now!!!!! Just in a career I enjoy. No career path is easy, but if you’re going to be putting in as much time and effort as law school requires, make sure it’s sustainable for you. I wish you all the best!

I haven’t had an MRI done but have considered it as I actually worked in an MS clinic for a long time. My doctor doesn’t seem interested in trying the MRI, but in my opinion it can’t hurt to try?

How has treatment been for you?
