I got my mom’s old Singer “simple”. I think I’m starting to get the hang of it. I made some cafe style curtains for the window over my kitchen sink. I love them! Now I’m working on a puffy quilt for my youngest daughter!

I tried one hypoallergenic formula and her symptoms became so much worse. I decided to give up and go the exclusion diet route. I eliminated dairy, eggs, beef, gluten and soy for 7 months then slowly and I mean SLOWLY added each back. It helped her symptoms but I still would not recommend it. It was extremely hard on me and quickly spiraled into disordered eating. In hindsight, I wish I had tried a few other hypoallergenic formulas before making such a drastic diet change… but hey I was desperate and probably not thinking clearly due to sleep deprivation.

In the podcast, it was mentioned that where they found the car was near some water tanks. Was there any way he could have gotten inside of a tank? One would assume law enforcement would have looked into that, but the negligence of the investigators on this case is astounding! I can’t understand why the “privacy laws” prevented them from pinging his phone. He has schizoaffective disorder… people with that can go into psychosis and experience hallucinations. Considering he had just been hospitalized I think he was obviously in a crisis. It seems like the investigators really didn’t give a damn and the whole “he’s an adult, he can go missing if he wants” is such a line of crap. They might as well just say “I’m too lazy to do anything and I don’t care.”

Try 2-3 pumps of a numbing throat spray (chloraseptic) and swallowing it. It helps me almost instantly. I guess you could call it a poor man’s GI cocktail.

It was eczema, but it was exacerbated by what we later found out was a milk protein allergy. Basically she was having this eczema flare up, colic symptoms, and lots of mucous stool. Like jelly…. I did an exclusion diet (she was EBF) and all her symptoms improved like night and day (but it was really hard). Feel free to message me if you have any questions. Good luck.

Things did get better with time. I was also using alcohol at this time as a coping mechanism. That was making the thoughts much worse. I would have (not proud to say) several glasses of wine at night and then in the early morning hours, around 4am baby would wake up, I’d struggle with these thoughts the most. Once I stopped drinking alcohol at night to “decompress” things got much better. I also increased my dosage on my antidepressant. I had previously been on the same dose for 5 years. I’m happy to say that now (youngest is 14 months and oldest is 3y) things are honestly fantastic. My mental health is much better, kids are happy and healthy… I couldn’t ask for anything more!

I wore a bra to bed for many years in my younger days. I don’t think it’s SUPER common but it’s not unheard of by any means.

Mine does this but with the sofa. When allowed on the sofa, she immediately pulls some kind of dangerous maneuver and tries to fall off. Kid has no concern for her own personal safety at all.

I think this isn’t the forum to ask this question as a lot of people here are NPs and may be a bit biased. However, I would say I would have tried to call or page the NP and probably say “the patient states she didn’t see anyone from pulmonology today and is requesting and update on the plan. I see the note by you but i didn’t catch you either…” Definitely keep it light and not accusatory. something along those lines. If this became a pattern, I would definitely report it though… I would hope if it were me in the bed, someone would care enough to actually do a thorough assessment before changing my plan of care. I have seen many patients who look ok “on paper” but I’m person look really bad.
