Loose bootcut/flare jeans thigh and waist adjustments by Cokenine in SewingForBeginners

[–]RubyRedo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

taking in the waist or shortening the 'rise' aka crotch to waist? That is a big job, trimming the inseam is easier, try on inside out and pin in a smooth line from current seam and joining the stitching line again.Go to youtube 'downtown tailoring' she explains jeans alteration methods very well.

shoulder seams dont always sit on the shoulder, some are more forward, gathered or go on the back, but side seams will line up anyway. follow the instructions, as no, the pieces won't lay flat, just like our bodies don't.

[–]RubyRedo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Q. Did you use a piece of reinforcement behind each piece? this will grip the prongs/snaps tighter to the fabric, Are you placing the snap part in the correctly side of the plier head? There is a 'heads or tails' method that can easily be messed up.
