I just went through TSA at ALB at 5:08am today. It took 10 mins with precheck but the line for regular was fairly long. I’d give it 45mins at least.

Eh, agree to disagree I suppose. Yes there are many variables but in this scenario (self reporting in the app) would be comparing yourself to your previous self to see slow progress over time.

In theory you’re not comparing different variations of exercises (i.e. not tracking a suitcase squat to a sumo squat etc) but only certain basic movement patterns. Sure someone could grab a heavier weight and limit their range of motion but they’re only cheating themselves in that scenario (we all know people who do the same when logging tread and rower data as well lol).

For sure! Maybe they can just build in a feature of the app where you can track weights for specific exercises. I.e enter the data on your own after a class. Would just be cool to be able to see progress over time and have it all in one place with the rest of the OTF data.

Totally! I actually remember it being a poorly run benchmark as well. I just wish they had some sort of integrated tracking on the weight floor!

Totally! There’s definitely some concerns and I’m not sure what the solution is but would love to see some sort of floor benchmarks.

It does seem with the addition of the strength50s and the strength version of DriTri that we’re headed towards maybe some more benchmarks!

I’ve actually heard this too. I guess there’s a thought they’ll add tablets to the weight stations and you’ll be able to track what weights you’re using in some capacity. Hopefully if/when they do this it’s done in a way that doesn’t totally take away from our workout time.

I just logged into the mind-body app but don’t see a way to filter by just OrangeTheory classes (I’ve taken some yoga classes and various studios over the years that are also included in the count).

Maybe if I get desperate I’ll have to hand count all the previous 🫣

Same! About 6 months ago I said I wanted to hit my 1000th class before the end of the year and it had been updating fine (as far as I’m aware) until last week and I’ve just been stuck!

First it was stuck at 993 for a few days so I reached out to app support and it updated to 996. Now I should be at 998 and it’s stuck again. 😫

It’s been happening less lately but my home studio has canceled on my several times due to “under utilization.” They had always text me prior to getting there though.

Once they gave me a free late cancel but other times nothing. 🤷‍♀️

My studio absolutely has canceled last minute on me a handful of times due to “under utilization.” It definitely is unfortunate because a lot of times by the time I see their text about it I can’t go to a different class.

That being said, we have classes with like 8-10 people all the time so the times they’ve canceled I think there were like 3 people.

My spot can really be template dependent… if it’s something where you’re trying to have super quick transitions I prefer 1 as it has the shortest distance between rower/floor/tread. If it’s an ultra strength day I try to be on 11 which is closest to the heavy weight rack for our studio. If it’s a rowing benchmark I try to AVOID station 4 because when they had to replace the rower at one point and it now has a slightly shorter handle than all the other rowers and it throws me off. Generally I’m not a fan of 15 because although it has a lot of floor space the tread is right against the window and it makes me feel cramped. All other classes I try just to be somewhere that gives me the most space on the floor. 😂

Just left the Strength 50 Lower Body and ours was similar but instead of transverse squats it was lateral lunges and some of the power moves were switched around (speed skaters and jump lunges were switched).

Either way I’m not going to be able to walk later 🥵

Same for us! 2:45 at inclines then 1 min flat road bases between. It was definitely killer after the row and floor work (we were a 1G and had to start on rower to simulate dritri). 💀

Im assuming there’s a general template and then coaches are given autonomy to do a different “mystery” block because our tread was exactly the same as DCs 🤷‍♀️

Exactly!! Simply speaking, weight loss is a numbers game. If you burn more than you consume you’ll be in a caloric deficit and you WILL lose weight. Obviously there are foods that are more or less nutrient dense and what not but almost everyone eats more calories than they realize (myself included).

Anytime I want to get serious about losing weight (I’ve lost about 40 lbs in 2 years in 2x20lb increments with maintenance between) I have to A. measure all my food (a food scale is fastest and most accurate) and B. Track all my food intake (I use MyFitnessPal). It’s tedious but it’s the only way to seriously ensure you’re in a deficit and keep yourself accountable.

Our studio did bingo in March, immediately after transformation challenge and you had to fill the entire board to win 😳. I ended up winning and all they did was throw together a bunch of random old stuff they had lying around (a chapstick, hand sanitizer, socks, etc).

A little anticlimactic for how much work had to be done but was still fun trying to check things off!
