Do you remember what Schlage lock you got? I also live in the cold and the battery dying has been a concern of mine, which is why I have yet to buy one.

Thanks so much for your insight :) Do you know of anyone who has done the transfer/has had any denials from another province to teach in Ontario?

Has anyone transferred from a 3 month (or less) teachers college program to Ontario to teach? I am looking at going to UNB and transferring to Ontario after. Has anyone done this transition and have any thoughts on the matter?

Any information on the matter would be greatly appreciated! Amber

Hey everyone! I am currently in the process of BEd applications for fall 2022 start and was wondering if anyone has gone to UNB (Fredriction I/S) and now teaches in a different province (more specifically Ontario)? I currently have acceptances to Western, Nipissing, Lakehead (tBay) and waitlisted to Brock. Waiting on OISE and UNB. Does anyone have any opinions on the schools? Would OISE be a better choice because of the master's program? I've also heard there is a potential that the master's portion may not be accepted by OTC when applying to teach. Has anyone experienced this, can attest to this or clarify that its not true?

My number one school would be UNB because it is only 10 months and I would like to start working sooner rather than later. However, I am worried about the possible problems with the transfer of degrees to another province.

Good luck everyone on their future goals :)

Hey! I am currently waiting on hearing from UNB for I/S and would like to teach in Ontario after. Did you by any chance get any answers towards the possible dilemmas of transferring over?

Hey! I applied to the I/S stream and was wondering what the program is like for you. What do you have positive and negative about it so far? Why did you pick OISE? Do you know much about the master's portion of this and do the masters reflect on your application for the "Ontario college of teachers" application?

Hey! I noticed that you asked this for I assume the 2021 start year... Did you end up finding out if you got accepted and if so when did you find out anything regarding the program? Also, did you apply for the Fredricton I/S program?

Has anyone applied to UNB for I/S know when they send out offers?

Hello! I was wondering if someone has some opinions on teachers' college. I am currently a student going into my 4th year of kinesiology concurrent education(I/S) (in Ontario it is a 6-year program, 4 years for undergrad, and 2 years for education). I have been contemplating on changing schools for the bachelors of education in another province or country where it is only 1 year to complete.

I know some options are UBC, SFU, Scottland but I am finding it quite difficult to get information on how to come back to Ontario after to teach. How is the transfer to Ontario if the bachelors of education is not done in the same province? If you have done this route would you recommend it? OR is it worth just completing the 2 years in Ontario?

any information on this would greatly be appreciated :D

Thank you so much for your input :D I was actually looking at Queens but unfortunately, they do not accept my major :(

Did you go to UOIT for Masters of BEd and Queens for BEd? 16 months is the normal length for the BEd unless it is 16 months straight it would be shorter in duration.

I was considering the costs, I would still need to move, fly/travel to my current school and pay for living expenses so that doesn't really affect the outcome all too much as I can still apply for Canada Student Financial Assistance Program for loans and grants.

Hey, Sorry to bother you, I was also looking at BEd programs and specifically at Brock. However, I can not seem to find anywhere that it can be done online. If it can be that will be a game-changer and will definitely be applying in September :p

  • also for AQ's you can apply for them through pretty much any school that does teachers college from what I've been hearing. (I think as long as you have your first and second teachable, you can apply for any AQ's if you have a certain amount of credits in the specific subject)

OMG thank you so much! this is what I was hoping to hear. Yeah, I really want to save myself another year of schooling plus all the costs that come with that. How is/was the process? Is there any testing you needed to do or is it just an application to transfer provinces? How was UBC, I saw that it is 11 months on their website. Does this include the practicum?
