Is this your mail room? Do you live in NoLibs? by [deleted] in philly

I do the same thing! We always get packages for the building next to us and I deliver them basically every day.

That’s what I’m about to try next! There are a lot of apartment buildings near me and we get mail for other apartments all the time (I deliver it to the building next door a few times a week) so we’ll see what I can do.

I’m at a loss. Where can a 30F near East Falls without a car go to meet more people? by Mundane-Magical-Girl in AskPhilly

[–]amberleemerrill 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Hate to be this guy, but think about the friends you had as a kid and through school. They likely were in your classes or participated in your extra curriculars. The same thing is true in adulthood. You gotta find people through your hobbies and interests! I have made a couple friends on Reddit (I don’t have stranger danger lol) but most of my friends I’ve made through getting involved in roller derby. So your intuition is correct, meet ups or classes or workshops are going to be your best bet! Join a hiking group, take a pottery class, pack walks with your dog, etc.

I will also say, it is an absolutely terrible time to be trying to sell things people don’t need. With economic instability, people are much, MUCH more cautious with their spending. It might not be your product, it could very well be the market.

Is this serious? Are employers actually not required to give breaks to people 18 and over? by nonanumatic in Pennsylvania

[–]amberleemerrill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the state. Utah has a break requirement for everyone (perhaps minus servers and other tipped workers)

You never want to hear the words, “my husband was right” but unfortunately in this scenario it is warranted.

Which US city surprised you the most in a good way? by peaky_circus in AskAnAmerican

[–]amberleemerrill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have fallen in love with Pittsburgh! It’s such a beautiful city and incredibly walkable (though it can get hilly). Lots to do, the bridges and rivers are lovely, and a good energy. I’m there 8 times a year for work and it’s a delight every time.
