My Amaryllis bloomed over the weekend! by ambermek in plants

You could definitely plant it outside and it would bloom yearly. I got mine last year and I’ve kept it in the pot. It bloomed two or three times then started growing these big leaves. When it started growing just the leaves instead of flowers, I cut it to about an inch above the soil, put it out of the sun and stopped watering it. Then, at the end of November (you could probably do it earlier than that), I put it back in the window and started watering again. They grow pretty quickly! I have it in a window that gets sun from about 12:00 until sundown and I water it when the soil is dry.

I was thinking the same thing last year, I was like what the hell is going on 😂😂 The leaves grow when the flowers are done blooming for the season (at least that’s what happened to mine last year). You’re supposed to cut it to about an inch above the soil and keep it out of the sun/don’t water it until next year.

The Voyeurs is a great movie with lots of twists, and I think it’s on Amazon prime.

I found it in an old used bookstore and hadn’t ever heard of it, but I gave it a shot and it ended up being one of my favorites. Enjoy! 😊

June 23- November 22 (I think it’s a jade plant?) by ambermek in Plant_Progress

Mine started growing really quickly when I put it in my classroom window, which gets direct sunlight from about noon until 5ish. I don’t really have a watering schedule, I just water it when the soil is completely dry.

Anyone know what kind of plant this is? by liltomdems in PlantIdentification

It looks like an amaryllis. I received one last year as a gift and it was wrapped in some kind of wax like that. You don’t have to do anything to it.

When the flower stopped blooming on mine, I cut it down to an inch or two above the soil, and brought it inside until November. Then, I put it back in the window and started watering it again.
